WoodVille Mississippi, 1.5 hours from my house.
St. Mary Parish Louisiana, 2 hours to the camp, boat ride included, you can only get there by boat, but I have electricity, running water etc...

Do you get there much? Reason I ask is because par for the course here in PA is to have a camp within four hours of home and me it up a couple weekends every month. My friend who has the camp in Montana get there once a year and the one with the camp in Missouri goes there twice a year. Not nearly enough.

I miss deer camp. We used to go to friends places the night before gun season, and just hang out for a while. They would be camping, and sometime we would stay too. No one really does that kind of thing around our area anymore.

Mine's about a three hour drive from home. It's in the driftless zone of WI. Dad was one of the original four owners. It's been our camp for 33 years.

I've done a bunch of perch jerking in Lake Mary. I remember buying my first turkey call from Lynch's when they were in Liberty, but that was 30 years ago.

Mine is in a state of disrepair because I never go there. Okay only 80 miles up north with 300' on the lake that I never use. Such a waste and backing up to all the county land wide open to hunting. Sweetness has her own place about the same distance on another lake and that backs up to the Nicolet National Forest which is huge and wide open to recreate plus she has a wooded 80 that could be hunted. Mostly I just rent a cabin 350 miles up in the north west part of the state to get away from people. Honestly the deer are eating the hostas ten feet from the front door and lately the deer and turkeys have been doing laps around the neighborhood. I can bow hunt the woods a hundred yards from the house.
My other auto is a .45

Rancho and I jumped a NICE whitetail while were hunting pheasants. Probably the best whitetail I have seen in the last 7-8 years, big bodied and was tall. Busted less than 20 yards away, got an awesome look for about 2-3 seconds.
I won't give specifics but it less than a 10 minute drive from town....
Mule deer require a little father drive. Dinks are easy but finding a nice mule deer buck is hard to do on public.

I about stepped on a big ass mule deer in Kansas while pheasant hunting with Dave (Toltecgriz). That deer jumped up just 20 yards from me and stopped for a moment. David knew I was thinking real hard about throwing a load of high brass number 5's into the deer's brain pan.
