That buck will look nice on the wall. I doubt your daughter will like seeing the buck every day knowing she could have pulled the trigger but didn't. There's an interesting twist to this story. I felt kind of bad after shooting the buck that my granddaughter had been after. So, yesterday afternoon I happened to see an 8 pointer that was bedded down in a woods, and told her about it. She slipped up on the deer and shot it, making a nice offhand shot in heavy cover. She told me that it must have been karma...... .I shot the one that she saw, and she shot the one I found for her. That seemed to make her happy, and it made me feel somewhat relieved. I won't mount this buck, although I will nail the antlers up somewhere. I've got some mounted that are better deer. Greatest part of a great story. Thats hunting....it usually works out, even when it doesn't work out. You and that grand -daughter will always be hunting buddies! Sycamore
...Actually Sycamore, you are sort of right....

Nice, old buck with great mass! I would have shot him in a heartbeat! Congrats! I'm going to try and shoot something this weekend with my new 6.5 CM.

Congrats on the buck and to your granddaughter.
My oldest grandkid is about 4 so I have a while to wait before I can take him hunting.
