Most shots will be 200-300 but some opportunity for 500-600 wil practice to further but just practice.

The ~1 lb difference in a long action '06 with a 24" #2 over a short action with a shorter barreled #1 eats up a bit of the recoil difference.

You can't go wrong with the 308, I still have a couple and use 155 scenars in all of them. I'm just really liking my mild mannered 6.5CM. I'm looking hard at a fieldcraft in 6.5CM now too.
