I’m waiting on the Magum Creedmoor. Already here: 6.5 PRC It looks fantastic, too.
What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

You can spell it however you want, but it's pronounced nir-ˈvä-nə.

The Creedmoor is a fine factory round, and yes, I do believe it is absolutely here to stay.
Your best factory rifle choices are: Tikka T3 Barrett Fieldcraft Ruger 77

Saw 8 boxes of 6.5 creed ammo at Wallyworld today. 2 winchester XT $19, 3 Fusions $26. And 3 match grade that I don't remember, but they had 130 Bergers $30. So I guess it's pretty close to mainstream. Gotta drive 20 miles to get 7-08.
Seems like a logical step up from .243 if you need it.
Still a somewhat limited factory rifle selection in comparison. But I guess you could say the same for the .243 if twist rate is a consideration.

Better wait a while longer, five or ten years at least. Wouldn't want to be hasty. I’m never 1st to the party!

If this chambering is here to stay it may just be time for me to drink the Kool-aid! Drink! Drink! Drink!

i can talk myself into any rifle, and if i then pause from the desire for a week, i can talk myself out of it... i have saved a lot of gun money using that technique... I’ve done a VERY good job of this lately, actually talked myself out of several guns in my safe and padded my bank account a bit. Then I stumbled upon a lightly used Barrett Fieldcraft in 6.5 locally. Picked it up for less than a new Montana. Just dropped $500+ on bullets, brass, powder, and dies. I should have just purchased a few boxes of ammo.

Only if you have 10+ pounds of H4350 sitting in your closet. I guess with 16 lbs I'm good to go...

It’s hard for me to justify any new rifle purchase when I have an outstanding and fine shooting New Haven Win70 classic stainless chambered in 30-06 .... it’ll do just about anything I ask of it & it’ll do it rather well. I purchased it new about 20yrs ago and it just makes justifying other rifle purchases a real pain in the arse!

It's just another of several good 6.5 caliber cartridges. No reason not to own one but it isn't doing anything several others have been doing for over 100 years.

It is now perfectly safe to own a 6.5CM. Just don't let anyone know that you have one.
