I drive a good bit, around 50K a year, so stopping for a coffee is something I do most days. I alternate between Starbucks and DD. I rather like Pike Place. I don't go in often, just usually the drive thru if I can. As for cost, mostly I put it on the company card and expense it. Even if I paid for every drop it wouldn't have much influence on my saving rate ( which is way above 10% of my gross) I have enough to do without worrying about the political leanings of the founder of a public corporation.

The collection of taxes which are not absolutely required, which do not beyond reasonable doubt contribute to public welfare, is only a species of legalized larceny. Under this Republic the rewards of industry belong to those who earn them. Coolidge

OrangeOkie: I did some more investigating and unbeknownst to me Mr. Schulman has recently initiated a program of hiring returning from war theatre veterans and their spouses - so far he has hired 8,800 (eight thousand eight hundred!) of them - all with health benefits and pretty good starting wages by the way.
His company consists of among many other things 26,000 stores and many coffee "plants" roasting places.
His company made a profit of $2,800,000,000.00 (two billion eight hundred million dollars!) in PROFIT last fiscal year alone!
Yeah he is doing pretty damn well without my business.
I agree many of the most wealthy are liberal leaning!
Donald J. Trump seems to be an exceptions as are the Koch brothers (despite their looney libertarian leanings on some matters).
Indeed liberals of most all social/wealth classes seldom are criticized in any manner by the lame stream media.

The only cup of Starbucks that I have drunk was at a regional hospital after mom had her stroke. I had spent the night with her and when the nurses came in the next morning to bathe her I asked where I could get coffee. The nurses said there was a Starbucks in the Oasis. I stood in line for several minutes as staff workers ordered coffee with just about anything you could imagine added. When I got to the front of the line I asked for coffee, black and the barista just looked at me like he was waiting for the rest of the order. Finally, I got my coffee and it was some of the worst I ever tasted. This was before the owner made his political stance. I won't ever go to another.

Love going in there wearing my Trump hat and "Smoke a Camel" T shirt. Fun to watch the lesbos and girly men scatter like roaches when you hit the light switch.

Go to the grocery store and find the coffee isle. Close your eyes and pick one coffee. Take it home a fix a cup. If you don't like it never go to a grocery store again. I am not defending Starbucks. Some of their coffee tastes like burnt carp. Some of is good. And, if you go and ask for a real cup and one of their brewed coffees they are a he'll of a lot less than five bucks.

It is kind of like the Earle Ruger Mini 14 I had once. It was a piece of junk. It was hard to get a minute of barn from inside the barn. Therefore all Rivers are garbage and no semi auto firearm is worth the effort to hurry it.

The first time I tasted lima beens they were burnt and I could not stand the taste so all beans are bad.

Can't stand the coffee or just about anything else they have to offer for that matter. however, there is one about a half mile from the place where I always go to get a large ice tea- black. The wife loves the mint tea they have but that's all the business we give them.

Then perhaps you should put me on ignore. I will forgive you for insulting me but I am having a bit of a problem with what you just inferred about my wife and daughters.

Not bad, I would say, for someone who had to borrow money to start his first coffee shop not so long ago!
I don't resent the rich - in fact I envy them, especially the ones that earned their wealth though hard work and personal risk.
Sadly many of the uber-rich turn liberal and I hate them, for obvious reasons.

As an offhand estimate, I would say that the majority of the uber-rich are liberal hypocrites. They use their liberal/socialist rhetoric to hide their strict adherence to the American Free-Enterprise capitalist system and principles. Rich liberals are rarely criticized in the fake news media.

I've had coffee at a few different starbucks. Usually when I'm on the interstate and they have a kiosk in one of the oases. Not a big fan of mcdonalds, but their coffee is far better than starbucks.

Honestly, I avoid them, however, maybe a couple times a year I'll grab a cup of something. Pikes Place is very good with some real gofast to it..

I drink it black so I avoid their coffee as it tends to be bitter. The wife loves the foo-foo drinks and goes there frequently.

Good point made by the OP on money waste. I keep a log of things I buy when I am in money saving mode.....little bits add up quickly.

Being out here, plenty of Starbucks and Dutch Bros...

I don't frequent them, even tho they are everywhere...

but I enjoy seeing them...

so I can laugh at all the idiots sitting in line, with their cars idling
for a $4 to $5 cup of coffee....

a lot of people around here who claim to survive on welfare, tho all
seem to have a back seat floor full of empty Starbuck cups...
but never have any money...
