That's some nice shooting!
I would've tried one of these a long time ago but I didn't like the flexible forearm. The tang safety and 70° bolt are nice features.

I have one in 300 Blackout that shoots one hole groups at 100 yards and holds them really tight out to 300. Looking forward to purchasing another one in 7.62x39 down the road.

There was no greater freedom than when I would leave Holiday Park Fish Camp heading my airboat west toward the Big Cypress. Fuel for 4 days, a good machete, an ice chest. No phone, no radio. Just God and me and the Everglades.

Is McMillan making a handle for them yet?

A little work with a heat gun, and a some epoxy putty just in front of the front “lug”..... can go a long way toward stiffening up the forend and keeping it off the barrel.

The Timneys are NICE..... I’ve got two of them.

I’ve owned RAR-Ps in .223, .243, .260, and 6.5 Creed. They’ve all shot well, but they all required a little stock/bedding work to eliminate some minor gremlins.

You guys anti-American, or something? What's not to like about AR ergo's? I reckon Boyd's plywood is all the rage to you?

I picked up an all weather American .243 from Sportmen's Guide for 313.00 shipped. Mounted a 3200 Elite 3-9 on it and sighted it in with the cheap Federal Fusion 95 gr. loads I bought on sale at Dick's.

After I got it where I wanted at 100 yards a five shot group was fired. It wasn't a one hole group but it was one ragged hole. I threw the thing in the truck and went hunting. I felt plenty warm.

I had a chance Sunday to shoot my Ruger American Target 17HMR for the first time since buying it.
After sighting it in to be 1.5” high at a 100yrds I was able to hit beer cans filled with water at 180yrds about 90% of the time.
I’m satisfied with it.

My son (age 46) had lost confidence in his old 270 as it was getting inconsistent. We bought a Ruger Predator 6.5 CM. Took stock off, adjusted trigger, floated barrel and put back together according to specs. Got some Hornady 143 eld-x ammo and went to range. 3 shot groups and then clean to break-in. 1/2 to 3/4 moa. Went hunting, shot deer. Eating deer feels warm inside. Mac

I don't care for chassis and bought five pieces of Boyds colorful plywood for my RAR-Ps. The laminated Heritage style added a full 16 ounces to the package, but the improvement in fit and balance was worth it to me.

Best, most concise review I've read yet on the American.
That should be in their advertising literature.....

They're but ugly the stock's flimsy and the mag catches with plastic on plastic there's just nothing to like really. But my stainless compact 308 throws little groups and carries like there's nothing there and hasn't done anything wrong including two shots for two deer. Its still junk though. lol

What " benefits"?

A pound more weight?
Creating the need for a glass bedding job on a rifle that had solid bedding from the box?
A more fragile stock?
