If you ask me, this is the most revealing post in this thread. Arranging things such to have a handgun at the ready is classified by our very own Steve_No as paranoid. I think this provides us with a significant clue as to the exact political nature of my entourage of personal trolls here at the Fire.
a handgun in a vac sealed bag is not "at the ready" especially if you have wet, soapy hands cause now you have to find a knife to get the bag open.....you found the most idiotic way to accomplish what you were after.....
a solution that actually makes some sort of sense if your worried bout humidity is put the the gun in a small, water proof Pelican case in a drawer.....vac sealing a gun to have it ready for immediate defense is just plain stupid.....

TRH. in all honesty. When the topic of conversation is firearms conversing with you is actually pleasant and you seem fairly knowledgeable. But I dunno if you conk yourself with your nunchucks or if the aliens turn on th anal probe but you go off the deepend a bit and that's when things go to hell in a handbasket

Throw some some form of small desiccant packs, marketed for use in gun cases and range boxes, into the plastic vacuum bag with the gun and you wouldn’t have to worry about corrosion caused by moisture.
Yeah, the smiley on post #1 should have been a clue that the title was intended to tickle some funny bones. The actual subject was made clear in my post content, i.e., preventing rust on handguns stored in high humidity environments, such as bathrooms where showers are taken.
