Wow, very nice Sportsdad! Here's two of mine, a pre-70 National Match and a 70 series Gold Cup with nickel finish

Most of my pics of my .38 Super are pretty lousy shots.

When I was a kid, you’d occasionally see USGI surplus .45’s which at some point, had been handed off to cousin Larry who worked at Acme Chrome Plating. Larry would sneak it into work and plate it with the next batch of bumpers that went through. Eventually these pistols ended up gunshops, where kids like me would slobber all over the display case until somebody ran us off. I think I am genetically predisposed toward redheads and nickel plated handguns. A relative came up with this Franken-Colt awhile back--WWII upper on a '91A1 frame, all poorly nickel plated.. It's an oddball and but I liked ir and finally pried him loose from it. The pistol does run and shoot well. Five rounds of USA 230 FMJ, 50 yards, rested shooting.

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

I gave one from 1916 too. Not quite as nice and thinking of having Doug Turnbull restore it. My favorite in my small collection. 1916 Colt 1911. P over H barrel, all original, 98%. I turned most of my Colts into cash awhile back, but here is my favorite one that I still own. Its a lightweight Gov't that is way more accurate than it has a right to be! Its an XSE, and I swear that stands for Extra Sharp Edges! When I first got this thing I think you could shave with it! I knocked the edges off with a stone, and now she is just right!
