I was diagnosed with low testosterone years ago and went through 3 different topical gels that really had no effect. Finally went to an Endocrinologist last month to start blood workup and he prescribed me with the injections. I gave myself the first one last night which was pretty much a non event. I have given thousands of injections over the years, just not many to myself. I was actually able to wake up on time this morning instead of snoozing for the normal 2 hours. Other than that, nothing else noticeable yet.

Anyone else have any experience with the injections? Anything to watch out for or advice?

I know quite a number of men who have gone that route and all say they more than satisfied. Start some resistance/weight training even in modest amounts, especially for your legs and you will feel amazingly better psyically in 4-6 weeks.

Also note that you are probably give a long actin form of Test, either enathate or cypianate, which will take 5+ days to hit its peak plasma levels. Reports are sporting solid morning wood everyday will tell you if you are at a good level. Good luck.

I broke my back in 2003 and honestly, my physical quality of life has steadily gone down hill. I started working in an office cube almost 2 years ago so that isn't exactly helping. Recently got a new JRT pup so there are long walks to deplete her energy supply. I plan to slowly work my way back into the gym if this stuff starts restoring my motivation. I am injecting 200mg/ml of the cypionate bi-weekly starting off and then go back in April for blood work again.

Are you stating that you're injecting 400 Mg per week?

My mistake, bi-monthly.

Did your doctor prescribe an aromatase inhibitor also, such as Arimidex?

Come on man!!!!! KSMITH is turning a new page looking
for advice on the .www for gawds sake. Even though I don't know why someone would
put this out their for the entire planet to see.

Either being numb or putting out bait for a spat is all I can figure.
If it is true it does explain alot about him though๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I'm bet their is plenty of google- fu info to be found other than on a hunting
website.

Here's some advice KSMITH....

Stop being a chronic masturbater like a bonobo ape
all day and night long on porn sites.
And you might be able to get the fugg up in the morning.
And your "T" level might improve.

Have a nice day......

This forum is not a good place for a lengthy discussion about HRT and all of its implications.

There have been a number of good books, written in the last 12 years, discussing this topic. This book was published three years ago and documents this physicians experience with HRT.I suggest reading this and becoming more informed on this topic, since administering just testosterone is fraught with some serious complications.

Testosterone Replacement Therapyโ€”A Recipe For Success by Dr. John Crisler.

This book could save you years of searching for the right answers.

No it does not. This false claim was dis-proven 13 years ago.

There's one caveat ,that is ,if you have an existing case of cancer you would not embark upon HRT.

From my understanding via my doctor, it does not cause prostrate cancer but will accelerate the process much as any hormone therapy will do to any cancer. But as I said, not an expert, just relaying my concerns I presented to my doctor. I think one of the first things oncologists do is suppress a patients hormone system to slow the spread.

I think it's probably pretty obvious that his MD would have complete bloodworm including a PSA score on him.

Aromatase inhibitors are probably not needed at the levels he is taking, and I once again feel pretty confident that his MD will be checking Free and total T levels, as well as his estrogen level. For those not in know, Testosterone is converted (aromatized) into estrogen which is why supra physiologic levels of test causes estrogenic side effects such as gynecomastia.

I know men taking 50% more than he is, and they are on an A.I.

Theere is ample research out that disproves exogeneous testosterone is detrimental to a healthy prostate, nor does it exacerbate BPH.

A great source of information is the T Nation TRT forum. Read the stickies section a couple times. Your going to need to monitor your Estradiol levels and may have to take an Aromatase Inhibitor if it gets too high. High Estradiol has many of the same effects as low T. Being in shape helps in not producing high Estradiol. Start doing sub cutaneous injections with a 5/8" 25 g needle and inject twice a week. You may also want to consider HCG along with the T injections. It not only keeps your own testicles producing T and not shrinking, but has other benefits as well. It's not as simple as most docs just recommending T. If you tried gel and it did not work, you really need to rule out thyroid issues. Many times those who get no effect from gels/creams have thyroid issues. The stickies section goes into great detail about diagnosing thyroid issues. Sometimes until you resolve any thyroid issue, even injecting T has a poor effect. That's a rough overview of some important points.
