You got it all wrong Harry, I said "when you go to the Golden Corral for the senior buffet, don't be a glutton."
Now, when you're ready to move onto the quads, let me know. You'll need oversized headphones, and some old "Who" albums. I call it the "Quadrophenia Workout." Ok, got it this time. I fell so foolish. However, I never go to the Golden Corral and if I did it would feel strange at the senior buffet. Especially them thinking I don't qualify for the SC discount. I'm sure you have more than a little experience with the SC discount. Have you gotten used to it? Anyway remember, if you ever need any prescription advise, don't hesitate. I'll be there for you, like you have been for me.

yesterday evening I lifted three local IPA pints (strict form)- met with three guys who are going to do the Bob Marshall Open this spring- it has the makings to be the toughest one yet- longest route combined with record snow, should be interesting Ed- you should consider throwing in your hat?

I don't own a muscle that isn't feeling the burn from lactic acid. My work schedule had me going in early this week so I made myself get up and going at 4 am. Dove out of the rack like a shaved headed recruit on week two of Boot Camp. Walked the dogs a fast walk. Got back to the house and turned on some sappy YouTube motivational stuff to really get me pumped while I stretched and warmed up. Then I tore into my workout. Burpee's to sandbag clean and press, squats, side to side dead-lifts, squats, lunges and a host of other full body exercises non stop. On and on without rest for a hard 30 minutes. Sweat poured, my heart pounded and my lungs felt too small to suck in the O2 I needed.
I've no idea what my sandbag actually weighs. I'm guessing somewhere around 60-70 lbs, which is too light in some instances, but mighty heavy in others. Where its pure gold for me is it's multi-functional uses. I can drop into a bear crawl and drag it along. I can do push-ups and slide it from one arm to the other. Or I can simply carry it around in various manors.
mtwarden, I think tonight will be a good hotwings and beer night. Stout or brown ale for me though. More wholesome than that IPA stuff.

An hour on trails with Onyx last night in a graupel blizzard. A good climb with conditions ranging from good packed footing to bone jarring post-holing.

Did upper body today, cable machines, pull ups, leg lifts on the Roman chair, back extensions, oblique machine, quad machine, and hamstring curls.

Added abou a mile and a half with the dog, on the scooter. Mtwarden would've been proud, the sidewalk was rough-textured asphalt with cracks in it, and there were some pretty good uphill stretches, probably an elevation gain close to 30 feet.
It was grueling.

Added another 1.5+ miles today. Jumped a few curbs and went off-pavement for a stretch. Had to be an elevation gain of close to 100 feet, it was epic

Ed- we took off from the town of Elkhorn on the Muskrat Ck (Iron Mine) trail, near the top of the trail you veer off to the east up to Windy Pass and on to Elkhorn Peak-> cross country to Crow Peak-> follow the ridge line to the east for about a mile and then angle down- it’ll put you on a old forest service road above Leslie Lake, follow that road most of the way down Queens Gulch- there’s a cut off road to the west that will deposit you back to Elkhorn
I think the distance isn’t that much different than hitting Elkhorn and Crow as an out and back, but saves you a climb back up to Elkhorn Peak and lets you see a little different country

This reminds me of every time I've asked for directions in southern Louisiana. Except there are no ridges, passes, or peaks down there.

Crunches and push-ups and core stuff last night, 28 mile hill ride today. The ride really pounded my quads. I'll be surprised if I don't get a cramp at some point tonight.
The CENTER will hold.

you always know you’ve pushed it hard when the cramps straighten your legs out at night!
