You bet! Maybe every other year (go backpack flyfishing other years). Its Memorial Day weekend and is good time. Low key, small town feel. Definately worth the price of admission (free!).

had a buddy that hiked the Gila River until it was big enough to float a kayak, then ran the river into AZ. pretty good adventure

I'm not a big fan of New Mexico, but the drive from Luna to Silver is pretty sweet. Close to Arizona , too.

The answer is yes. We were hunting land owned by the Tyrone mine, some of it had been reclaimed after the mining was done . Actually, more deer were seen on the reclaimed areas than otherwise. We had access to land South of Siver City, but most was West and Northwest.

I killed mine about due West of Siver City at about 6000 ‘ elevation. There were twelve in my group and four in another group. Everyone who wanted to kill a buck did so, but mine and one other were the only ones I’d consider trophies.
