That ad looks odd to me. Almost looks like the picture was made this morning. Never seen 7/8 inch see thru rings.

Looks to me like a rifle with some after market add - ons. Whiteline recoil pad and side mount scope rings. Probably not intended to be straight from the factory for that price. But it looks to me like an original add.
My take is that a dimwitted artist concocted that ad. "Hey Bill, we got a contract for a Savage ad, whatever a 'Savage' is. See if you can round up a rifle to use in it." "Sure, Ralph. My Uncle Joe has one I think. Let me call and ask him."
