I've never understood the significance of a veto being overridden, but historically Presidents have tried to avoid it.
Dunno why. Right is right.
Maybe it's hard for a person with the type of ego it takes to be elected President, and especially hard for this particular President, to entertain the thought that his decision may be overridden .
Just exactly what was President Trump supposed to do?
The yes vote at 65 weren't no coincidence.
When was the last time there was 65 for anything contentious? Never.
Some R's were allowed ta vote no cause they're not well liked and up for re-election.
But, ol' number 66 was obviously waitin in the wings to punk the President if he vetoed it.
The bill was a coordinated effort between R's and D's to jack with Trump for tryin to insist they do what the people put em there for.
And there's no way they're gonna do *that*.
So, the R and D handlers came up with a crapass bill, and agreed to vote 65 yes.
So, Trump vetoes it and gets overridden, or signs it.
The bitches should be directed at congress, not the President.
You are correct that it is the congress that the people should be pissed at and not Trump. But Trump should have vetoed it even if it was overridden because he would have solidified his base and they would have been energized going into the mid terms. Now the energy has been sucked out of the base and many will stay home. There is so much riding on the mid terms that this mistake will cost him a majority and future wins for his agenda.
I am pissed at Trump for missing this opportunity to show the base he is the fighter we want him to be, not another compromising Republican to keep the swamp alive as many will see him now.
Trump is still our best hope and needs to be supported at the polls this November. A mid term victory will nullify most of this mistake. Otherwise we got nothing.
It's as simple as this. It's Congress' job to pass an acceptable budget. Tell them to grow up, get back to their offices, pass a budget for you to sign and get back to business. This crap about kicking the can down the road every 6 months, and the president tolerating that behavior, sets a precedence that the budget doesn't matter. The Democrats WANT that precedence but if the budget doesn't matter, then the debt doesn't matter. And if the debt doesn't matter, then the country doesn't matter. Trump should have VETO'd this turd, and told them if people cried, screamed and moaned about the government shutting down, them could thank Congress for not doing their job.
It's predictable, all the "I wanna be Trump's Monica" are coming to his rescue, telling us that he didn't have a choice.........the Hell he didn't, he could have vetoed it. I am far more interested in seeing this country succeed than I am in seeing any certain politician come out looking good. It was in the best interests of the country for Trump to veto it. Now, they might have overridden his veto, but that would have been on them. This is on him, and it's probably going to hurt him a lot more than most will admit.
sure its bad Trump signed it,but his veto would have done nothing but pissed congress off more, he did save the military budget. its hard to do things right when half the republicans are in with the democrats. hopefully we keep a republican congress and Ryan lose`s his position in congress for good ! Trump has a tuff next 3 years but Trump is no bodies fool either, don`t give up on President Trump just yet, let`s hope he can get some miracles done. build the wall, get rid of illegals, put Hillary and bill in jail, no more money to over sea`s ?
Trump has been the toughest S.O.B. in Washington. He has all the Dems, a big part of the Rino's, the main stream media, some of Fox, and most of celebrity and academia doing all they came to stop him. Yet he kept a stiff spine. That's a lot of resistance to hold up under.
He keeps on keeping on through the vocal support of his base, we the people. Without those rallies and the average Joe showing up to cheer him on, I doubt He could go the distance. Who do you know who could.
He most likely knows more about how strong the threats against the country really are and cannot show our enemies where we are weak. I believe he is a patriot and therefor I will stand with him even with this error. Hopefully the base will realize what Trump is up against and turn out to keep him in the game.
Right now I cannot see anyone else who could replace Trump that would fight the swamp. Don't let Ryan and McConnell and the libs keep you home on election day. This is the key no matter how pissed you are.
Keep your cool and don't let them out maneuver us. Turn out in force, or face the alternative.
I think Trump is pretty slick. His goal is the bring down the Fed and there is no better way than pushing the debt level up until it can't take it anymore and it collapses. With China averting the petro dollar and not buying US treasuries the debt cannot be funded and the Fed has no move. Other countries will not buy our debt either and they won't need to hold dollars to buy oil anymore. If raising the debt and placing tariffs on China works the Fed's fiat currency system will explode.
America will be forced to issue their own currency and rebuild from within with jobs and production consumed at home. Very painful times ahead with soaring inflation and limited goods available but we will finally be free of the Fed's system. The only way to destroy the Fed and be free again is expanding the debt very quickly now while everyone is already borrowed to the hilt. There is no better way to use the debt expansion than the military. I think it's pretty slick how he did it so he didn't tip his hand at his end game. The timing is perfect as well. Hold on it's going to be a heck of a ride.
