Anyone use this bullet in ARs? I've tried it only in a couple of bolt-actions, one with a 1 in 12" barrel and the other a 1 in 9". I intend to try it in a Colt with 1 in 7" bore.

Yes, in a 1-7 PSA upper with CFE223. I believe they were designed to be used by LEO's in AR's.

What kinda accuracy you getting with the 64 gr. BSB?. IME, not that easy getting them to shoot good groups, including .223, .22-204 and .22-250 fast twist.

I've had much better results with the Fed Fusion 62 gr. That one is easy. Here's a link to some info on that bullet. Both bullets have good terminal performance.

I've only done minimal load development so far for the bolt-action guns. Accuracy hasn't been great with 5-shot groups of slightly over 1" in a CZ and about 1 1/2" in a Ruger. Maybe additional work will show some improvement.

Try Fed Fusion 62 gr as a comparison. I predict the Feds will blow those BSB’s away at the range. And terminal performance is reportedly pretty close.

Not a hard choice, IMO.

Quite of few of us have tried to develop loads for the 64gb BSB. Best I could do is with IMR-4895 and CCI 200 primers. I could get to an inch with that, but never broke it.

Half inch guns shooting 1 1/2" groups isn't something I tolerate, regardless how good terminal performance may be.

As a Loony, I want both...

The 62 Fed Fusion comes pretty close.

I also like 65 gr. Gameking and 60 gr. NPT.

I have some 64 gr. Win Pwr Points, just haven't shot them. They're reportedly good bullets.

I've been using the 65 GKs in ARs and a 1 in 9" CZ bolt action .223. Very accurate in everything using 24 / H4895. Almost as good with 24 / TAC. I enjoy trying different bullets and that's the only reason I've been working with the Nosler 64. I've also tried the Nosler 60 Partition and the Winchester 64 in the CZ. Initial results haven't been good, particularly with the Winchester bullet.

The 65 SGK shoots very well in my custom Mini, like sub half inch. I think it may be a 9 twist, not sure. It's been too long.

I'm really big on the 62 Fed Fusion as you can tell. Like a dog that just found a new bone.

I have not shot the 64 bonded in an AR yet but I did load some for one.

Last hunting season my stepdaughter bang flopped a mulie doe with one out of her Savage Axis.

Tested in a 7 twist Wylde chambered AR light crimp on the cannelure one powder hovered three shot groups at one inch. That might be as good as it gets with this rifle. Wanna put it on some bone and see whats what. Probably a good utilitarian bullet.

Which powder gave the best group?

IMR 4166

checked the data when I did that (last week I think) and I had shot 5 shot groups with 22.5 grains of 4166. Dies were set to use the cannelure as I intend to just load these for a AR load. Did not write down an OAL but did make a dummy round so I could duplicate it set the dies back up. At 23.0 grains the group opened up but no pressure signs still. This is the first time I have used one of the Enduron powders. Going to improve the trigger on this gun and maybe more magnification scope as this was shot with a 4 power setting( 1 to 4 variable I had thrown on it after assembly). Might improve things a bit and shows promise .

I load the 64 gr Nosler bonded along with the 55 gr TSX with CFE-223 in a PSA mid-length house gun, those two bullets along with the Federal factory loaded 62 gr bearclaw bullet all land within 50 cent sized groups at 50 yards through an EoTech 556, I'm happy with that, very hard to precisely aim with the fuzzy reticle on that sight.

Gunner look through your peep sight and see if the reticle doesn't clear up.

Thanks, makes sense, I've heard of old timers being able to see the front sight more clean by looking through a receiver peep.

LOL, SOTG, I'm 55 and still have 20-5000 vision.

I don't have long distance vision, never have.... form a peep with my hand to sneak a peek at without glasses always amazed me how much clearer things go.

Don't discount a peep, even if its only like a ghost...

I picked up some CFE 223 gonna give it a whirl....
