memtb....I remember you...And, I remember your wife and her killing abilities. She’s the type of gal a lot of wish we married. I got really lucky with my 2nd wife...She loves to shoot most anything, except fur...She owns a couple of AR’s, several pistols in 9mm, 45 ACP and rimfire 22’s. She’s fun for me to watch...IIRC, your wife gets pissy at you when you make her take a pass on an animal. 😎

Geed, your 980 Slugger tourched that little bobby...I guess you have a head mount left. That’s one way to keep the taxidermy costs down. 😎

Currently I only own 2 magnum rifles, a .22 mag. and a .357 mag.. I have shot a 7mm Rem., .300 Win., .338 Win. and ,458 Win. but would't want to own one as I have no practical use for one.

I've been smacked in the face a time or two by one of those break barrel slug guns.... they buck like hell. They also clobber blacktails in the jungle pretty well.

What lost you Mike? My bad comma usage? Would it be that I wasn’t looking to hear about a Lever Actions big bore that can’t hit anything past 200 yards Consistently? Take a nap, you seem tired and we’ll chat about magnums for a bit...😎

Oh really? Tell me more.

Not since I moved to MI. Got rid of all my 35 Cal and up when I left AK.

I'm in a limited firearm zone for deer so all I got is my 450 bushy. Kinda boring but it is what it is.

Nut, I guess, I will agree with you...I have yet to find anything you’ve ever had to say informative, entertaining, or worth more than a cursory and brief read...I know how you feel...Mark 😎

Ah, that clarifies things!

Have owned, shot and hunted quite a few "magnum" rifles rifles over the years. Right now my biggest is a .416 Rigby, which has taken a few buffalo (not bison) here than there, but have also owned several .416 Remingtons, a .458 Winchester and several .375 H&H's and a 375 Ruger. Have hunted quite a bit with a .375 H&H Ruger No. 1 weighing 8-1/4 pounds, including buffalo, and owned a couple of No. 1's in .450-/400 NE 3", which I loaded up to .416 Rigby level. Oh, and have loaded my .416 Rigby up to .416 Weatherby velocities, which makes for interesting range sessions.

Also played and hunted with quite a bit with various "medium" bores, including the 7-1/2 pound (scoped) .338 Winchester Magnum that was one of my main rifles in the 1990's. Still have it, along with other lightweights in .340 Weatherby, .35 Whelen Ackley Improved, .358 Norma Magnum (which I also still own), .358 Shooting Times Alaskan, 9.3x62, and my wildcat 9.3 Barsness-Sisk, which duplicates modern 9.3x62 ballistics in a short-action rifle. Mine weighs 7-1/4 pounds, again scoped, and have used it on game up to grizzly.

Also have played with a bunch of others in chamberings from .338 Lapua up to .600 Nitro-Express, including , .458 Lotts .470 NE, .505 Gibbs, and some I've no doubt forgotten. One of the advantages of being a gun writer is being able to try a bunch of rifles, often including handloading and hunting with them, without buying them.
