I understand why you're making the move. I'm sure your 'yota's can't take much more snow and cold so best to retire them to Florida.  And I hope your Spanish is up to snuff. Leaving Alaska was a mofo. Two of the times I left her, it was for Florida. I have a friend who retired from, The Alaska State Troopers... He and his wife are now headed for South Florida. I think everyone must like the white sand on the beaches . Wish you all the best.

I actually liked south Florida when I was there. Expect you will too. Resided next to homestead, But lived at Big Pine, Okeechobee, and the 10,000 Islands. Hint...
Girl friend lived at Sunrise, and her folks were from PP.

I've come to the conclusion those that are happy and make the most of life do so no matter where they find themselves. Those that are hapless SOB's seem to have their personal dark cloud follow them around.

Are there still places in FL that guy can have a little privacy? Don't need a lot of acreage but some would be nice.
I don't know. We're just renting for the first year and I'll go from there. I can tell you that this is the most difficult place I have ever tried to find a rental and I have moved a lot.
