It’s like watching the last episode of “Cheers”...Total downer...Travis and family, be well...Enjoy the new experience and start posting pictures of your iguana slaying soon...Can’t wait to hear what reptile backstrap tastes like. 😎
my DIL is from floriday. but i don't hold that agin' her.
traverse, or whatever your name is, if'n ya don't like the hot & humid, about a million floridians have left there and moved half-back to up north. they settled on north georgia and western north carolina as being just right, with four pronounced weather seasons each year.
just having one or two seasons might take some getting use to, and of course the new language.
Seems to me, Florida will have to adjust to Trav, vs Trav having to adjust to Fla...
Best of luck on your travels down there.....I always enjoyed the Keys.. started the 1st grade in Key West actually... which I still enjoy visiting ignoring all the Gay Crowd that inhabits it now.. always stop and get me a new hat at Sloppy Joe's....
Minus all the people, FLA still has some great places...

sure beats some other places on the East Coast..
best of luck Trav!
actually Florida does have some nice places, mostly water related. like homossas springs, etc. and the beaches.
ol dave will be swallowed up in the multi-cultural masses. florida has changed from the day the crackers landed.
Travis, great photos.. Very enjoyable... Sad to see you leave.. We travel quite a bit, and there is not place like Montana... Hope you move to Fla. is a great one, but hurry back to Montana.. Best wishes, and keep us up to date on life in the hot place!!!!!
If I can move anywhere in the U.S. it would be Montana. Been there 3 times on vacation and cry whenever I have to leave. I wish you the very best. You have a beautiful family, and that's all that matters.

I wish this thread was fake news bro.. Have fun in Flahrida, send plenty of pics. Downstream and I were going to come up and loot your garage but we are having a bit of a flood right now(Nash is in a canoe shooting carp). Guess we'll just have to make a southern trip once you get dug in.

When are you runnin' for governor? We need some help on that.
Bide your time with the weather. Tell all them twits that gave you the humidity warnings to pack sand next winter. Learn a few words in Spanglish. Buy some flip flops and work on your tan. Get a CCW if'n you don't have one already. If you need some fishing tackle stop by on your way south.
for the humans in this community who are looking for something "more."
a lot of them won't even relate to below zero temps for days on end.
they'll just want the experience of the great outdoors.
when they come, they'll likely bring talent, and money. or availability to acquire money.
we all know it takes money to acquire technology. a poor person isn't much of a shooter.
florida is good. i hear that gated communities are deriguor?
Yes on the gated communities.
Montana is a big and beautiful place. It is rare that you will find non-Hi-Line natives that embrace the Hi-Line lifestyle. I enjoyed it and love this area but there is a big difference between living on the Hi-Line and visiting Bozeman, Missoula, or the parks.
A week from today I will be packed and ready to launch. Left some things unfinished so I have an excuse to return.
Montana taught us a lot. Thanks for letting us visit.
Well, Dude, best of luck with the move & I'm sure everyone will adapt.
You sure as hell won't be shootin' anywhere near as much, but the fishing there is a lot better than good & in the Keys it is just insanely good.
And a lot of the fishing can be like huntin' too.
I've fished a lot in SW Florida & the keys & I don't think I'd ever get tired of it.
Get yourself a nice, deep 23-25' boat that you can do in-shore with & on good calm days that can get you a ways off shore & you'll love it, as will the family.
Couple of years & you'll have all learned the ropes & you'll enjoy it, hot weather & foreigners not withstanding.

Nah, get a good and proper flats skiff for the shallows, then go off shore in settled weather. There ain't a v-hulled 23-25 foot boat on earth that can properly navigate the flats. Little vee on a good bonefish rig can handle some chop just fine.

15th Street Fisheries in Lauderdale was a great place to eat and you could take a water taxi to other bars for a drunken night out. Highly recommended.
And, your boys are gonna be pulling some wool. There is so much puzzy around there it ain't funny. Once you refine your game chasing the same nickel as everyone else in Ketchikan (bumfu*k), south Florida puzzy is a breeze
Something is wrong if you ain't a grandfather 3 times over within 2 years........

Good luck.. hope you and Jorge can hug it out... watch out for the Haitians and chicken bones once they throw them ph ckers on your trash can lid you are ph ucked.. I owe you that package not sure it will get there before you leave if I put in the mail tomorrow..
gonna be a shock to the system when that heat hits you. i remember when i first moved to the deep south. it just kept getting hotter and wetter until it felt like i was in a sauna any time i went out. but you get used to it. sort of.
Havre to Homestead, bold move. Change is stimulating and high heat and humidity is a good excuse to wear less clothes. Your kids will grow w/ the new experience and adapt w/ time. The 1st good fishing trip on the salt will blow their minds. Stay safe.
WOW, that is not only a change but a large one at that. Not only culturally but weather wise as well. Let everybody know you made it one piece. You are gonna have to buy your whole family a new wardrobe. Good luck.

Their problems are their problems and 'flave problems are 'flave problems.
I must be confused. I didn't think you were supposed to post your picture all over and tell people where you are going when you go into witness protection. I just hope you can stay safe, in south Florida, and so close to various mob groups, and cartels you testified against. Have a happy life. I can't imagine anyone leaving Montana to go to Florida. But I'm glad it's you, being as flexible as you are. Take care.
Where did you find to land in SFL? Hopefully not Homestead.
Homestead and Florida City will be my AOR but I'll be living in Pembroke Pines.
Lived just north of the Pines for about 4 years. Drove thru it daily on the way to work. Is centrally located for access to good times, N/S/E/W. Put your gay pants on if you dabble around Coconut Grove. From time to time there be some righteous fishing off shore. Port Everglades will be your launch spot, give or take.

You'll be a Jimmy Buffet fan by the 4th of July. I promise. Good luck, you'll be fine. South FL is a different place. Different from anywhere else in the country. It's like hillbilly trailer trash from a KY holler bred with... well the sun. Because the hillbilly genes took over whatever it was bred with, and got a permanent sun tan. I loved south Florida on the Gulf Coast. Still got family there and all over FL.
Just remember, no one uses their turn signal. Embrace it.
I'm about to complete a journey from Seattle to Milwaukee. Decided Wisconsin was calling (Midwest was always home to me). Start work on the 18th assuming I sign for a place this week and get the movers on the calendar. Corporate drone-dom here I come. After all, Wisconsin is where cheese-eating drunks to to live out the winter.
I can understand getting burned out on the hi-line, that place hasn't changed in the 30 yrs I have been going up there, but south Florida? Good lord don't you know that place is plum full of liberals?
Of all the places I've been in Florida, Naples was the nicest. Of course I haven't been there since 1989. But nothing else has compared.
Good luck on the move.
Well its not anything like it was in 1989. The sleepy little towns along the Gulfcoast are now sprawling suburban areas with almost unbearable traffic especially from November thru April.
Im over in Fort Myers. I did my share of hunting here the last 30 years but I finally decided to give up my lease. Just too hot to really enjoy it and like I said I did it for 30 years. I hunt in Ohio and I got in a lease in Alabama which I am able to hunt there three weeks a year.
You will find fishing is where its at in South Florida. You will be located in a great spot for that. Close to the Keys , Biscane Bay and Even fresh water fishing in the glades and canals around your area. When you get settled in get you a good 16-18 ft shallow water skiff And have a great time.
Lots of Kayak fishing if your into that as well. Kayak fishing is my current thing. Cheap and portable. But I see myself back in a small skiff as soon as I can get a place bought on the water or a place close to a launch that I can keep the skiff. A lot of people move here and become miserable because they dont take advantage of the salt life.

Pants?
Optional offshore or in the back country and some of the bars probably.
I can understand how someone could decide to not spend an entire life away from larger city amenities, especially when raising and mentoring children who are likely to spend a chunk of their adult lives in or near larger population areas. But, man, you sure cannonballed into the deep end of the pool. Best of luck to you and your family with the new situation. I’m suspect you’ll wind up somewhere out west eventually.

I don't think it's that bad as far as liberals go. The gun laws seem pretty good.
MT to FL - that seems like a tough trade, but we all have to do what is right for us and our family. I have tried to move to MT for going on 30 years - just seems like the right job never comes up.
It looks like you lived well while you were there. Best of luck to you and your family, hope it goes well for you. Let me know if you need anything when you are passing through Bismarck.
That is a serious downgrade.......we went to Orlando, Sanibel Island and Fort Meyers a few years back. The mountains in the distance are condos. Anything that wasn't paved was a swamp. People on top of people. Could not even turn around without bumping into someone. Downright claustrophobic for this Idaho boy. Good luck to you, glad it's not me!

Yeah. Living here was great but there are drawbacks also. When I was a kid I dreamed of being able to do these kind of things right outside my door and I'm glad to have been able to experience them for a decade.

If you don’t mind me asking, Deflave, where were from originally?
You can replace Shrapnel with RevMike. Ought to be an interesting change. He'll make a pig-popper out of you.
My cousin lives in Palm Beach county. He's an even bigger dick than you, if you can imagine such a thing. You'd like him, and he knows a good pig-n-gator outfitter. PM me if you want the info.
Hope this works out for you. Moving is the pits, unless it's moving away from Maryland, CA, MA, NY, etc.

My boat will be named the "Feckless Kghunt."
If you see it, wave.
Should consider "The Wet Spot" as a boat name.
Friend use to have a bar called that. Great bar name and I think it would work for a boat too.

Gun laws are good.. for now. But, as is in many other places, it requires vigil. Conservatives are not gone. And many of the liberals are of the imported variety.

Come on, Bro. I been drunk in all those and Miami, Cape Coral, Daytona and Coco. I had a great time. The Pine Island Sound booze cruise was awesome.
I've come to the conclusion those that are happy and make the most of life do so no matter where they find themselves. Those that are hapless SOB's seem to have their personal dark cloud follow them around.
Best to you and yours, I'm sure you'll find plenty of new adventures and make the most of it.

According to my cousin, firing warning shots is a felony there, so shoot to kill.

Some people just don't know how to have fun. Open mind, open cooler, open beer and have a good time. There ain't much too it.
Are there still places in FL that guy can have a little privacy? Don't need a lot of acreage but some would be nice.
If it was that bad, I-95 wouldn't look like a clogged sewer all the time. GFY Plenty to do in S Fl, you'll be fine and so will the family. It is the humidity!
Leaving Alaska was a mofo. Two of the times I left her, it was for Florida.
I have a friend who retired from, The Alaska State Troopers... He and his wife are now headed for South Florida. I think everyone must like the white sand on the beaches . Wish you all the best.
I actually liked south Florida when I was there. Expect you will too. Resided next to homestead, But lived at Big Pine, Okeechobee, and the 10,000 Islands. Hint...
Girl friend lived at Sunrise, and her folks were from PP.
I'm guessing you (all of you) and your family will have a great time there...

That goofy ass Schit Zoo of my wife's leaped out onto an island of ice and then fell thru. I had the girls with me so I had to go out there and get it.
Awesome pics and a beautiful family! Just out of curiosity do you buy undersize hats? If not, I'd really hate to get a head butt from you. Have a safe trip!

Best of luck to the Flave family in your new ventures. Hope that Florida is ready for you, oh Lord watch out. Great pictures of a family life that has been well spent and the stories will live on forever I hope. True friends will be happy for you, the others deserve a big solid GFYX10!!!!
It's been a blast watching you post all of these years, now I'm gonna have to get used to bikini pics of the island girls that encounter "the Flave".

PS I hear iguana tastes pretty dang good, maybe like .........................pheasant.
The sun is not your friend, especially it you’re a White man. When ya get down to the sub- tropics ditch the gimme caps and get some real hats, and all them lightweight nylon fishing shirts (UPF 50) come with long sleeves for a reason.
The standard Peace Corps advice was ya gotta give a place at least a year before you really know how bad a place sucks, or doesn’t.
If does suck, remember, there’s always South Texas.

All kidding aside; this is seriously good advice. The sub-tropical sun down there will fry you, and especially your kids, in such a short time you won't believe it, even on cloudy days. The effects will last a lifetime. Most of the time I spent down there was long before the days of sunscreen and my shoulders are a mess.
If you don't want to spend your golden years being periodically skinned alive by your dermatologist, slather on the strongest SPF goop you can find every time you go out. Big hats and SPF shirts are a good idea too.

WTF you think will happen if you walk around shirtless on a Montana prairie in mid-July?
Hey, shrap. I never did seal the deal on one of those horses but remember the shot I made on this black bear?
Hmmm. Did you get the black bear the same place you kilt gophers?

I took a load of schit I don't need (and one dog) to the Will Creek dump yesterday. This dump is not far from one of my all time favorite gopher spots so I thought I would stop in and thank them for the ten years of hospitality they've granted since I moved here. After the dump drop I make the long drive up the driveway and I was welcomed by about 30 born-n-raised Hi-Liners staring at me like the idiot that I am. They're covered in dirt and smell like burnt cow hair. Yep. Branding day. And I'm the ass-hole in basketball shorts and flip-flops driving a 1980 Boyota. Jesus Fugkin' Christ. I got balls but exiting the vehicle whilst that Busch Light drinking crew stared right through me kinda made me uncomfortable. They of course are all wearing the Wranglers they painted on that morning and hats that convey they actually work for a living.
Thank the fugkin' Lord I knew one guy in the crowd but he took no mercy on me. Didn't say schit. So I called him out by name. "Hi Bobby!" "Hey Travis" was his reply but in a fugk you I like seeing you uncomfortable kinda way. I tell him and another guy I just stopped by to tell the landowner I was moving and just wanted to thank him for letting me shoot on his place all these years. But of course, if you really wanted to thank a guy you'd be helping brand, right? Holy schit I felt like an ass-hole.
So long story short, I end up finding the landowner and thank him for all his years of hospitality. He was beyond smashed and replied "Who the fugk are you?" It was awful. Absolutely awful. One of the most awkward moments you could imagine. The guy standing next to him told me to just come back and talk to him later. I explained I was moving to Florida and his reply was "What the fugk you gonna do in Florida?" Awful. Horrendous. Most awkward encounter you could imagine.
One rancher took pity on me as I was walking away and said "Don't feel bad. He wouldn't even know who I am if I said hello right now."
That made me feel slightly better as I drove on down the road.
Good luck with the move, Travis. If you get up this way to visit the wife's family again, we'll have to match up for a beer and some wings again. They guys in that VFW are still talking about your fugly Blackhawks sweater!

None of those fugks could afford a sweater of that caliber.
They're selling stuff too. They want to move to Florida to be closer to these fugkin' goons:
I have been down there a few times in the past year to visit my parents. Florida is, as I'm sure you know, hot, and miserably humid this time of year. That being said, the fishing opportunities are endless, and hog hunting abounds. There are beautiful beaches and plenty of places to Kayak. My Floridian step-brother tells me there are plenty of turkeys to hunt too. Another nice part about Florida is no place in Florida is terribly far from another, so you can see quite a bit of the state without seemingly endless drives. I enjoy my time there. What county will you be in?
As you mentioned in a previous post, change can be a good thing.
WTF you think will happen if you walk around shirtless on a Montana prairie in mid-July?
Catch a fugkin' cold?
BFE MT latitude - 46 N
Key West FL latitude - 26 N
Late June in Key West the sun is 4 degrees off of vertical at noon, late June in Montana the sun is 24 degrees off of vertical, in fact all year round the sun is always 20 degrees closer to the horizon at noon in Montana than it is in Key West. Ain't gonna do the math but prob'ly works out to be about twice the amount of sunlight hitting the ground per square foot in Key West on any given date, ergo the sunlight is twice as intense, this is the reason why it is warmer in Florida than it is in Montana.
Sun block gets old, stuff sticks to it and it gets in your eyes, hats and lightweight long-sleeve fishing shirts are the way to go IMHO. Or else being you're White you too can get skin that looks like a highway map in no time at all, no matter.
And them kids are good-looking, you're right, prob'ly ain't yours.
I was in FL at the end of July last year. I could live there for the fishing alone. The humidity didn't bother me. Hell, it's humid in this swamp most of the time the snow is gone anyway.
Flave is the type of guy that can have fun in any situation and will make the best of what's going on. If it sucks, they'll move. Some folks have a hard time figuring that out.

I will be in Broward County but we are only renting for the time being.

Southern folk get real perplexed when you tell them it gets hot in other states.

Hurlburt to homestead seemed a bit of a jog, IIRC... Not so bad in a C-130

Okay Cupcake, have it your way. 👹<Your new look
I'd tell you to at least make sure the kids goop up, but I'm sure your wife has some sense, aside from one really bad life-choice.

I ain't so much the heat, its the sunlight, so intense at mid day it washes out the colors you can see, burns ya quick too. Next bicycle trip, if'n I had my 'druthers I'd run straight north the first 1,000 miles, just to put some distance between me and the sun.

I don't wanna sound like an ass hole, but it's pretty stupid to explain that a child should have protection from the sun when they're out in the sun. It's akin to telling somebody they should stay out of jail. Or not drink bleach. Or not point a gun to your head.

No problem. Just wanted you to know how fast this can happen. I knew, but still fried my azz a time or two and it ain't nothing I want to repeat. My ex spent a couple hours on the beach in Pensacola on a very cloudy day, and the next three or four in bed with leg cramps, vertigo, and vomiting. Where you're going it's worse.

South Florida is not the south. Not even close. It's more like if New York and Puerto Rico had an azz baby.
It's the sun. It's everywhere. Millions of folks ran/run around in south Florida covered up in coconut oil. Yes, some die from melanoma, but just a few.
I'm a little jealous because the fishing is outstanding and you don't have to wear 3 layers of wool under Grundens to boat all year.

Despite all the bullshit on this thread, and whether or not 'flave is actually moving this stuff really takes me back.
I loved what i could find of old Florida. Some say it is gone, but I reckon there are places where it lives. Look for the Florida beyond the high rises and developments. Do the 'flave thing I'll bet everglades city still holds onto some old Florida. Gotta believe it's out there...

Good luck Flave! Montana was the nicest state I've traveled through so far. I've always appreciated the conversations / advice awhile back when I got into the .17 game.

First sensible post I've read from a non-Floridian. You're dead on, John. Old Florida is very cool... once you find out where it still lives.
Always enjoyed the pictures you posted up of your adventures. You're leaving some of the prettiest land there is imo. Best of luck on the move. We expect to see some bullet fragmented Python pics when you get settled in!!

There’s plenty of great things to do down there. In particular the fishing and diving. That said , I had hoped it was a joke you were moving to Homestead. Whatever you do don’t send your kids to public schools down there. I’m not joking about this at all. Whatever it takes time keep them out of those cesspools !

If I live there it will be private schools. I understand it has rough parts.

as the lone eagles go, why does one have to actually "live" anywhere in this day and age?
i mean, we've got computers, the internet, rapid fire communications all over the place thanks to technology.
ouch! that was a thorn in my side, and i felt it. so, lone eagles need to fly close to a food source. i understand that my friend. and i do hope the best for you and your clan.
on this forum, mine and your threads seems to be intermingled, at least to a degree?
Whats the boat plan? You ain't got a hair on your ass if you don't have a boat plan.
NuCanoe will rock a lot of the canals and shallows. Gonna need a decent sized bay boat though. I'd look in the 22-24' range. Lots of boats in that range draft plenty shallow and will still get you out a bit on nice days.

I'll be buying a flats style in the 20+ range. Used market looks pretty good down there based on what I've looked at.
Best of luck with the move. I've lived in the South and often want to move back. Matter of fact I just rented a place in NC a couple weeks ago and backed out on it. I couldn't take the summer heat when I was there and I don't have any reason to believe anything has changed.
Travis already knows this, so this PSA is for any High Liners that visit him in his new digs.
Gators live in every fresh body of water in FL bigger than a ditch. Gators are not really dangerous, but there are some things you don't do around them. This will seem self evident to many, but every year someone from up north makes these mistakes, and pays the price.
Don't let your small kids or dogs play in the edge of the water, especially at dusk and dawn. Don't swim with Bull Gators during the rut. If you play golf, don't stick your hand in the water without taking a good look.
Re: Schools.... i dunno how much choice there was in BFE Montana where you was.
Not every public school in the ‘burbs will suck. The best general predictor of the decency of a student body is how much money their parents make, as in if you are still poor in America after a couple of generations you prob’ly suck at parenting too. I assume you ain’t renting a house in tha ‘hood. Public elementary schools tend to be smaller and local, reflecting the neighborhoods they serve. After you have a sense of your neighbors, ask the ones with kids what they think of that school.
The most spendy private school in San Antonio is Keystone, prob’ly about $15,000 per year per kid, elementary, middle and high school. Class size about 15 students per teacher or less. Most of them kids are decent, some snotty rich kids with snotty rich kid problems, but for the most part the college-bound kids of successful professional parents.
I dunno tho that Keystone High kids do any better academically or in life than the kids at Health Careers High School, a magnet public school campus on the upscale north side of this city, certainly they are neck and neck in any academic contest ya can measure. Health Careers is competitive to get in and most of those kids have successful professional parents too. The biggest difference is the Health Careers parents have an extra $60,000 dollars to take their kids to Botswana on a safari when they graduate.
On the poor side of town the Young Women’s Leadership Academy is a rising star on the local academic scene. Again a public magnet high school that is very competitive to get into. Some of them kids are accomplishing great things. Some of their kids bested even Keystone kids recently.
If I were gonna send any kid to private school it would be middle school, the attitudes they bring out of middle school seem to stay with em for life. But beware, a private school can suck too.
Mostly, wherever a kid goes, it’s all on the parents, you wanna contact your kid’s teachers so often they find you a PITA, that’s your job as a parent.
I'm late to this - no wonder - 20 pages went really quickly. You posted some marvelous photos and have gotten many good wishes - no doubt deserved. Add mine - wishing all good things and a bunch of fun for you and your family.
Clark wants a spear gun...Dave needs water wings...And, Travis will have to get a “GoPro” for all the pictures of him slaying schit at 20,000 Leagues under the sea...Different location. Different game to hunt..Flave just making life happen with a slow roll...😎
Birdwatcher, I'd be willing to bet that schools were high on the due diligence list.
You’ll have to explain, you suggesting I’m a perv? <“shrug”>
Other than that, have you spent much time outside in the sun down here? Up north the difficult season is the winter on account of the intense cold. Down here the difficult season is the summer, on account of the intense sunlight. I deal with it every day. In the old days ever’body knew how to dress for the sun, big hats, long sleaves, now you got people out frying in Realtree gimme caps and t-shirts.
The guy is moving to a major metropolitan area with three kids, prob’ly all his schooling experience as an actual parent has been Podunk MT, before he spends $200,000 plus over the years on private schools, might help to know that some public schools get outstanding results. It’s all gonna be the parents anyhow.
You are the quintessential public school teacher. Full of opinions, assumptions, and answers to questions nobody asked.
...and I ain't actually worked for a living in thirty years But google them San Antonio schools I cited for real-world examples. We compete at national-level academic competitions quite a bit, or try to, nationwide the most outstanding public schools are those associated with major medical centers, no doubt on account of the concentrations of highly educated and successful professionals wanting the same for their kids.

I think want Flave meant was 'Were there any Civil War skirmishes in Florida?' Thanks for bringing history alive.

Yes Birdwatcher. There are some highly regarded public schools in Florida (Parkland is one) but that doesn't mean I want my kids in them. Having met more than a few products of the San Antonio school systems, I can definitively state they don't do a very good job of anything. Regardless of how well they think of themselves.
Also, Texas summers are not hot. Texans think they're hot. The eastern side is a bit more miserable than some parts of the country but where you live, is not hot. Your summers are no worse than the Midwest. Yes I've lived both places and rest assured my work had me outdoors more than most.
Lastly, you may THINK the summers are a piece of cake in all northern states but I doubt you'd feel that way if you had to run a dozer for 72 hours straight in 100 degree heat while fighting a forest fire that's encroaching on people's homes. And receiving no pay for your troubles.
Birdwatcher, I'd be willing to bet that schools were high on the due diligence list.

Huh? In reply to your first sentence, no. I was merely suggesting that your rambling exegesis on public versus private schools, contained in post 12902599, was likely unnecessary given the person making the move to Florida. (Of course, it would be rather late as well.) I suppose I could have quoted your post before making mine, but I generally shun doing that, and I figured you were savvy enough to understand the post upon which I was commenting and the meaning of my post. Anyway, to avoid confusion this time, I am quoting the post to which I am replying.
As for me, I am a refugee from New Orleans, and still have ties to the area, so I know a bit about living for decades in a hot, humid climate, and I am willing to bet that our friend from Montana has enough common sense and intelligence, if not actual experience, to figure out how to dress himself and his kids. (That also means that I know a bit about the whole public/private school thing. Schools were high on my due diligence list in figuring out where to move.)
Hey, I'm out of this thread, but since I was addressed by the OP...
....you sound pi$$ed, prob'ly because I'm right <"shrug">
I guess we got a whole lot of deluded parents here. ( "Sorry kid, sure you're the daughter of a lower income single parent who just graduated with a Master's in Engineering from MIT, but ya ain't done a very good job ..and hey, all you Academy grads, and doctors and lawyers and engineers and whatnot, Deflave says y'all suck...." ) What does help tho is all the money they didn't spend on private schools that got invested somewhere else for the benefit of their kids and future grandchildren.
FWIW I've only spent half my life in Texas, the rest were all spent somewhere else, up North mostly, 'cept for those three at 5 degrees North where its summer all year round (wet summer and then dry summer ) And hey, I was in my teens before I ever got south of 55 degrees North.
Most of them thirty summers I WAS down here I spent half of 'em up North; visiting family. I mean geeze!.... who's gonna vacation south in the summer if ya live in South Texas? One summer around the solstice I even did this cool sun experiment where I spent sunrise to sunset in the open sun, over asphalt, every day, travelling from 29 degrees N to 43 degrees N. My experience was what it has always been, latitude matters, a lot.)
Cool beans on the 'dozer episode , wish I had the opportunity to do that. But 72 hours on a dozer in Laredo woulda been worse, even if it was only 100 out.
Anyhoo Dude, sounds like yer gonna need sunblock, by the crate, though it'll be slimy and little bits of stuff will stick to you and it will get in your eyes a lot. Whats really irritating is when it gets on the lenses of yer optics. I got so sick of sunblock I ain't used it in years, those old time cowboys and farmers and whatnot knew their business.
Now that BirdWatcher has finally been put in his cage with a sheet covering him....Can we get back to the funny schit and picture of Flaves life in Montana...We’re actually thinking about buying a place in Kalispell. 😎
Ah, hell....Spoke too soon...Who opened his fricken cage door?

irfubar retired outside Kalispell and he'd be a good source of info.
He's an accomplished dude but a bit of an ass hole.
You're dead right about the public schools. Even the good ones are going to be socialist training camps, because that's what the staff is. We put ours in a good Christian school pretty early, but those can have their own issues, and learning about Jesus ain't one of them.
In either case, smart kids can usually see through the bullsh*t, but not always, so why take the chance if there are options?
Ya, Excellent. At this point I'm all-out to get debt-free. Problem I'm having is, I have no idea what I'd want to buy when I get there, hence the F150 comment.
irfubar will need me with you being gone..I will hand him Kleenex if he starts to tear up....Clark wants to learn to “Free Dive” with a badazz speargun...Flave, YouTube that schit! Crazy! 😎
P.S. I would have bought your Bergara if it was in 6.5 Creed...☹️

'Flave was belittling me fer not running the AC, ain't anyone else in my house, who dafug am I gonna run the AC for?
BW, I understand that, but you put up a post about fixing the AC in your Toy. That would be much, much, cheaper than a King Ranch, thats all.
Flave, if you're in the 20+ range, you've basically left the flats boat realm. 17-19' (or smaller) is typically flats/skiff range. 20+ is considered more of a bay boat... which isn't a bad thing. Flats boats, you're typically talking max 3 adults, and that may not even be a comfortable fit. 2 is better and easier in that size boat. One adult and 2 kids is easier than 3 adults.
One thing you're better off understanding and addressing up front: Where am I going to get my and my peeps' powder skin azzes out of the sun?
Bay boats will have more options for that. T-top or fabric cover, Sunbrella fabric being top of this class. Flats boats, not so much. The tradeoff is manueverablity and access to skinny water, and having easier options to get out of the sun..
My frame of reference: 17' Ranger flats boat for 7 years.
I'm gonna be in Broward County so maybe I'll get to meet the sheriff.
Hopefully not professionally.
Potentially.
I'm sure you'll be oh so impressed. Most Broward Sheriff's officers can't stand him. They recently gave him a no confidence vote. Problem for them is, he's such a spineless worm, he'll use any bullschit reason to sack those that speak out publicly against him.
He is (possibly soon to be, was) the perfect little Ken doll for the Broward liberal elites.

To be honest I was just trying to engage in polite conversation. I have no intention of buying a boat. I'm just going to become your best friend.

Yeah. His leadership style was pretty clear after the Parkland shooting.

The very best boats are someone else's, like ex-wives.
Hadn't noticed the Broward County part until now. Whereabouts in Broward County will you settle or is that decided yet? I was born at Broward General Hospital and went to school at Nova High. But that was a few (ahem) years ago and the place has changed almost beyond recognition since then.

True that, but nobody's going to loan Clark their boat. Travis is going to have to buy his own.

I believe our rental is right between Miramar and Pembroke.

There is some truth in that, unless of course your boat is so superior to the competition the chicks are free. Fella could leave an hour after everyone else, fill the cooler and be back for lunch. High speed trolling anyone?
Just kidding. That's about even with Hollywood on the east. Those were fairly upscale neighborhoods right on the edge of the Glades back when, not uncommon to find alligators sunning in the back yard. Still has a ton of small lakes and ponds everywhere. Good luck down there, but from your Montana pics I get the idea you make your own luck wherever you end up.

Flave, no problem on the boat. You'll get one when you're ready. Actually, OPBs (other people's boats) would be wise in the first year.
oh for fuggs sake. Stop, step back and take a collective breath. After all the the things he's pulled over the years you think Clarke's going to tell the world where he is moving and when?
Birdwatcher got so much credit, he could buy a truck to pull it.
Prob'ly the boat too.
I was in Bass Pro the other day and IIRC the monthly payments they were quoting on those labels on the boats were for terms of 144 months. So many sad stories there, someone oughtta write a country song.

Unless the topic is sucking equatorial negro cock I'm not sure you have any valid input. But hey, it takes all kinds.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... A boat, AND a truck?
You are the definition of success.
Dunno, never really GAS about money, or things (or AC neither ), still don't. My kid seems to like me well enough, same for my grandkids.
'spect I'll find out how successful I am before too long standing before my Creator, until then hey, you never count your money when you're sitting at the table.
Mostly on here I just bore the crap out of people throwing out useful info.

Buying a new boat from Basspro automatically and permanently changes your name to Dumb Phugk.

It's usually a good idea to be a success, and then dish out advice.
You ever hear me dish out advice about money? or credit? or AC? People do come to me for advice about birds tho.
OTOH, ain't no flies on my record of success among many of my former students, and the credit they give me as part of that, tho in truth I was just part of a team and its ALL on the parents anyway. Can't do it without 'em. Its ALL on the parents. Once again its ALL on the parents, for producing a child secure and stable enough to even want to learn in the first place, then checking that kid's work/class content most every friggin' day. Do all that and your kids will most likely succeed whatever school you send 'em to.
No matter WHAT school you send your kids to, ain't no one handing out secret socialist atheist dogma that know one knows about. Ain't no secrets in a classroom, specially not in the age of the internet. Some great Christians graduate from public school, and some Christian schools are notorious for the behavior of their students.
The MAJOR threat to your kids these days; their phones and what they can access....
....and I ain't talking websites where guys write obscene words to other guys all day.

I'm not trying to get involved in someone else's pssing match, but I got a chuckle out of this from a teacher.

You're either blind or ignorant if you don't see the socialist / social engineering slant of public schools. All three of our kids went K-12 public schools, the left lean of the teaching staff isn't even remotely hidden and it's just getting worse.
From my stint as an adjunct professor my observation is that the students on the top end of the bell curve are going to be there no matter who their teacher is. The really don't need to go to class and pick up the material from the text book and just need an occasionally clarification. ~60% of the class really benefits from a good teacher, and suffers with a mediocre one. Those lagging behind either simply don't care, or are so far lost that they need extensive tutoring far beyond what a teacher has the time for.
Couldn't afford private schools for three kids on a single salary, so I'd say two out of our three kids suffered for it, the third is excelling in spite of it.
I can see how those with low standards or who are easily placated figure it's good enough.

Everything they need to know is laid out on the State syllabus. The tests they take or took are available on line. Every assignment the teacher gives is available on line. The teacher can be contacted any time (due to the nature of my classes I freely give parents my phone number, if I'm awake I'll answer the phone), teachers HAVE to meet with parents on request, I am available most every day on a walk-in basis after school. You can bet anything I say is reported to parents, every day. Do you really think I could get away with anything?
I'm puzzled that folks think that kids follow their teacher's opinions that blindly. Again, look to where they are looking on the 'net.
And the standards I have to meet are the from the State of Texas, or more often with what I do, colleges around the country.

I sleep on the floor. Wife just left me. I'm in my 50's. I can't afford AC. I can't fix AC. I ride a bike to work.
Its been a few years, and I'm in my 60's. And hey, if you're past 50 and ain't busting yer a$$ doing something physical regularly, you're going downhill real fast. Slope gets steeper as you get older.
At this point, having done both motorcycles and bicycles, I gotta say I'm leaning towards bicycles. There's lots and lots of fat old motorcyclists, that's because all ya gotta do is sit there and work the controls, even if you're putting in a 1,000 mile day cross country. Nothing to it.
What a bicycle does, even if you're old with old knees, is allow you a workout like you did when you were a kid. Most often I ride early morning and at night, but just recently I put in a 60 mile ride on a sunny 98F afternoon just to do it (no sunblock, no sunburn). And hey, crossing the continent on a bicycle just rocks, no way around it. One reason I'm pushing so hard to clear debt is to get free to hit the road.
On the floor thing.... odds are if you are like most Americans, you personally, tho' not an old man by any means, have already grown too soft to sleep comfortably on the floor and more importantly, cannot sleep well on the ground outside which seems a fundamental ability for a man to keep. Charles Charles Goodnight, even after he became a wealthy man, slept outside on the ground every day of his long life, I understand why he did, he didn't have AC either.
What I need to get back to is fasting one day a week, as I did as an undergrad, again just to maintain the ability to do it. Seems like a fundamental ability for a man to be able to function without food, it ain't easy unless you do it regularly, you have to develop the enzyme pathways to break down fat and all that.
Beds are for sleeping with women, I don't see that coming in my future, unless you know any hot young women that dig wrinkly old guys, no AC, and sleeping with the dogs
You sure have been reaching hard all day to cut me down there Bub, I wouldn't think it was worth the trouble.
Wish you all the best on your move Clark, often enjoy your posts here ( who can resist a Cutler fanboy?) so hope when you get settled in, you'll keep posting and entertaining us.
Birdie, why don't you teach summer school and enjoy your AC with summer school earnings? There are ways around the financial blues.
Hey thanks for the helpful suggestion.
I think you have to donate a gonad or something to teach summer school, the waiting list is that long.
Got my usual paid gig at the museum lined up which is good on account of it leaves me the mornings to work out, plus a couple of weeks getting paid well by various education entities for different tasks. August I gotta go up to New York for a couple of weeks to see my skydiving 85 yo mom (who has a bigger set than I do), I ain't physically seen her since I rode a bicycle there in 2014 and I need to go.
Thinking about taking the Amtrack, I've never crossed America by train.
That many lined up to teach summer school in San Anton? Hard to believe...start thinking outside the box.
$7,000 - $8,000 over the summer for teaching an abbreviated version of a course to kids who really want to pass (the problem kids usually don't make it to summer school). Most teachers got spouses who ain't free to travel and are gonna be here anyway, so ya there's lots who want to do it.
I suppose what I really should do is look at the independent tutoring outfits, they also pay well.
Tks, I think I will, looks like you can bring a bicycle free of charge too in case I get stuck for stuff to do. But hey my nephew is back from Afghanistan and that fine young man owes me many cool trips
Get to know the summer school principals, as they do the hiring (of their summer school teachers).
True, but it ain't at my school, else I'd be in like Flint. 'Nother thing is, with summer school you get like two or three days off all summer, so two weeks visiting family up north would be out the window.
I ain't trying to be contrary here and I do appreciate your interest.
Birdie, why don't you teach summer school and enjoy your AC with summer school earnings? There are ways around the financial blues.
not a bad idea, at all, heck he may even do just that. but I'll go out on a limb here and suggest Birdy just live his life the best way it suits him and the rest of us do likewise. Some think Flave is crazy for leaving Montana for Flordia, but it ain't their life, you only got to make your self happy with your decisions.
Whether sleeping on the floor without AC or moving to Florida. Tis the beauty of this journey we've undertaken, we each get to steer our own ship.

My weekly indulgence has been a bottle of $7 wine one night per week on the front porch.
Recently I believe I have discovered why Thunderbird, Ripple, MD 20/20 have disappeared off of the shelves. They have been replace by 24 oz cans of "Steel Reserve", actually a malt-based beverage in various fake flavors for less than $2.00 per. So for a bit more than half the price I can get almost twice the volume, 8% alcohol.
No idea why your post would make me think of that, but if you're currently on the front porch copping an inexpensive buzz, there may be a cheaper way

I could not agree more. But when someone posts whether it be they're cold because of lack of wood or whatever in their cabin, or they're hot because of lack of A/C then it opens the door. Don't complain, whine, or play hardass unless you are ready to be called on it. Else wise just live and let be.

I have always wondered about the witness protection program . They always try to place you where you fit or blend in. Wonder if this was the first family this young operative has categorized and placed.
My kid seems to like me well enough, same for my grandkids.
Plus you can qualify for a loan. You're pretty much unstoppable at this point.
Ya, could be worse.
In your sixties (I just look younger because I avoid gimme caps and t-shirts) what can deep-six ya is your health and your teeth, knock on wood on the health thing, so far so good, but at some point I'm gonna have to decide if I really want to spend big bucks keeping my teeth. Never figured on living much past 70 but if ya made it this far, turns out most guys make it into their 80's. Damn.
I was wondering about can't-fix-the-AC thing, how did that happen? I was on just motorcycles until into my forties, then it was Toyotas, never had a broke AC before.
And Dude, grandkids are a special kind of joy I weren't expecting that, when it happens its like you did everything you did in life before that point just so as to get to that moment.
Seems like there are some Santeria worshippers around...

deflave better be careful -- I've seen his pictures and with a noggin his size he'd bring a premium from one of those Santeria priests!
Just make a call out thread, that will stop the madness.
"I'm moving."
Birdwatcher be like "The sun's hot."
"Look at the deer my wife shot."
Birdwatcher be like "I used to ride motorcycles."
"I bought a new home."
Birdwatcher be like "I sleep on the floor."
Naah, every post was in response to a point people brung up. It was you brung up the no AC sleep on the floor deal, rubber mask avatar guy brung up motorcycles, you brung up car AC - which led to motorcycles again.
See, there's guys like yourself who get their jollies all day trying to put down other guys over the 'net, and then there's guys who could GAS about that, like me
Insulting folks is best done face to face, anything else is a chickenpoop stunt. Tell ya what, if'n I DO make it to Montana, one of your buddies can stop and say hi first and THEN run me over.

How could anyone put you down?
You have enough credit to get a loan for an F150 and you have a killer bicycle.
No worries, you can one of your buddies run me over.
This sounds like a cry for help.
Get you a mattress and some AC. Quality of life will increase tenfold.
His “Mania” is in full Polar Swing at the moment...Soon, it will sway the other way and Clark will be BW’s target of uncontrollable love...Anyone close by to make him take his meds? 😎

JFC! The guy is moving (or not) across country. It's not like an expedition to Mars. Talkin' 'bout big hats, private schools, Spanish, boats, etc. Da 'flave is a big boy. He'll be okay and probably live to post again. After all, he earned his BONES on the mean streets of way suburban Chicago near the cornfields. He's got ice in his veins.
His only concern should be the PPO Cutler took out on him. After that, gravy.

Bro. Were it not for the Campfire I'd have never known the sun exists in Florida.
My going away party is today. Gruff "couldn't make it."
What an ass hole.
Gruff wasn't invited.
Gruff also invited you over for a bear hunt. With a big un located. Easy access, easy retrieval. One last hunt before you went to wherever it is you're going. Guess who was "busy?"
Ha! Spent a lot of time on the "Playbouy" out on Lake Wisconsin growing up. Piece of schitt pontoon boat with a 35hp motor that broke down on the hour, every hour. Especially if we got stuck on the lake in a thunderstorm. That was fun. Every time. I hate boats.
Delfarve: Good riddance! From a real/dedicated Montanan! No, seriously, I am wishing you the best of luck and enjoyment in your new endeavor. By the way I got hired to move a luxury vehicle a few years ago, from western Montana down to St. Augustine, Florida. I thought I was gonna die - took three long days of driving just to get there! Once there the humidity and heat took a toll! Rested for two days then drove those rich folks "other vehicle" (an H-1 Hummer - top speed 61 MPH!) back to western Montana. At the end of that ordeal I vowed never to drive to Florida ever again! Again, enjoy. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
By the looks of the guys in the background it appears they are either lost or taking a detour through Philly or Detroit and trying to see how its gonna be down south.
Once you got east of ND you have nothing to anticipate but cheese and eventually grits. Upon reaching Florida only a good cuban sandwich and lots of fishing will sustain your soul until you again see a mountain. Hemingway actually snuffed himself after one too many mosquito bites.
I dont know yalls route but if ya come south till ya hit I 10 hang a left, and when ya get to Pensacola I will buy you and all your killers breakfast, lunch or dinner when yall come by.The place yall left is a dream trip for me,but its not all bad in Fla once yall get used to 100 yrd shots, and lots of fish to catch. Thanks Tommy. I think we’ll be well east of you but my sister just retired in Spanish Fort , Alabama so we may cross paths some time.
This thread just conjured up a memory from a time I went over the road with a trucker buddy of mine. We stopped at a diner in FL. Can't remember the town. We sat in a booth and two GINORMOUS black women walked in.
The place was pretty full so the hostess told them they would have to wait until a table opened. One of them looks over at me and my buddy and says to the hostess in her Aunt Jemima drawl "mmmm mmmm we ain't gon wait. We's hangry now!"
They head right at our booth saying "scooch you on over honeys, we gon eat witch y'all!"
And they proceed to try and squeeze their wheel barrow sized asses in to our booth! We had to eat with one arm because there was no room to move the other one!

I've seen some just like that in Minneapolis. Are you sure you didn't have on your Golden Gopher caps on and they said, "Oh look.......Homies!!" when they came in the door?

Nope. I live on the other end of the state. NDSU Bison football dominates around here. Nobody watches the Gophers.
That's what they resort to when there is no roadkill deer around to fugk [/quote]
No worries. Ain't no Southerners where he's going.[/quote]
lot's of truth in that statement. he'll be way below where the southern folk are. he should fit right in with a mixture of displaced yankees and folks from the caribbean. if he searches around he might run into a joint or two where english is still spoken as the main language.
As predicted, I was wrong about the Bass Pro boats, it’s ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY MONTH boat loans. Actually if’n I sleep on the floor with no AC four just 4 more years I could clear my remaining debt and pay cash for one of them monsters. ‘Course cash for the King Ranch to tow it’d be another couple of years no AC after that. Prob’ly I shoulda been thinking like this decades ago. Prob’ly I shoulda got off this thread decades ago.

You could always start a thread of your own.
Your stories are so exhilarating I’m sure you’d get lots of participation.
We live a couple hours north between Titusville and Cocoa, semi-rural. We went to Pompano Beach last week to buy some RV furniture, I was glad to get out of there.
When you're in Tennessee, parked on the interstate next to a bunch of orange barrels, that's me leaning on a shovel. Roll down your window and say howdy.

You know that 6% grade on the main drag through Tennessee?
It’s hell on fully loaded U-Hauls. Max RPM and brakes a glowin’.
Cripes, today felt like south Florida here in my area of MN.
90* and the humidity has got to be close to 100%. I took the day off and took my Dad to an auction sale. It was miserable with cloud cover. When the sun came out, our shirts were instantly drenched. I just went outside to get something out of my truck and it's still bad. Mosquitoes are out. Yuck!
Dang, I stay away from the 'puter for a coupla days and Clark is already nearly in Miami, FLA. What the heck did I miss? I'm thinking the gophers up there are havin' a big 'ol party.
I think Clark is lost after taking directions from Dave and Travis said fuuged it since they just pulled into there driveway in Hi-Line. Good trip Flave...You da man...Expect Flave to want all his stuff back Shipping Paid so he can refurnish his domicile with his old stuff. And be back to his job by 8AM Monday...😎

All the Minnesotans are thrilled because they can say “Hot enough for ya?” at every opportunity.
Florida was cool back in the 70's and some into the 80's but it's hell on earth presently. While the gun laws are OK that doesn't mean there aren't hordes of leftist idiots out there. During bow season it's too hot to wear camo and the green stuff hardly dies down much during winter. There is lots of duck hunting though, killing an alligator is only fun once, the feral hogs are mostly not very big but still good eating. As for snakes you better be looking for them all the time. Water Moccasins don't always move out of your way and you can't see your feet most of the time so get some good snake boots for the whole family. The Burmese pythons have been there long enough that some have reached 20 feet long and they love eating dogs. You will end up hunting from stands a lot. You will also spend a lot of time in your vehicle watching no driving jackasses do stupid things, many of which are yankee dipshits. A good smoothbore slug gun will replace your rifles. Regardless of your previous efforts at jackassism I hope the job is an easy one that pays well enough that in 5 years you can get the hell back to Montana.
This whole trip is way behind schedule. Travis needed gas somewhere in North Dakota and when he pulled into the station it had a sign outside "Clean Restrooms". If he has cleaned one, he has cleaned a thousand and it has taken him several days longer to get to Florida...
Anyways car theft, once a cottage industry here, has gone way down. Once they figured out how to defeat all the electronic software gizmos we got on cars nowadays, the local grand theft auto crowd all decided to pursue careers in Computer Engineering instead.
It had gotten way too scary delivering cars to Nuevo Laredo anyways.

That is funny. At the auction yesterday, a guy that could be Uncle Si's twin, came up to me and said exactly that. I thought, "Clark would have loved that question!" lol

Nice to see you posting, Shrap. Hoping you and yours are doing well.
Ive been wondering what happened that required Clark to leave Gods country. Were you responsible or was it a requirement of an aggreaved husband?
Understand, you are under no obligation to reply, and if you reply you are under no obligation to reply honestly, other than by laws protecting the innoce, uh, subject.

Can't believe he's leaving Montana.
Why is it that people who never moved to Montana can never believe a person would leave Montana?

It’s like the chicken and the egg.
Great point!! people need to realize Montana is awful, it is arctic hell 10 months of the year, the wolves ate all the deer and elk.
The hi-line is in a time warp, hell there isn't an olive garden within 500 miles.
The wages average $5.00 an hour, I could go on and on but you get the picture.......
So don't even think of moving here..... Florida or bust baby...........
Dang, I stay away from the 'puter for a coupla days and Clark is already nearly in Miami, FLA. What the heck did I miss? I'm thinking the gophers up there are havin' a big 'ol party.
Proof of arrival. You wearing a pith helmet and slathered in sun screen holding tomorrow morning’s local newspaper and a boat drink with a big umbrella
You made it? Glad you are all there safe. Sad I dont have any one to bum a kayak off of now.......... As far as proof goes.....think along the line of that Christmas card.......Florida motif type of thing. You know, 'Hawks sweater and a banana hammock. Mullets and mason jars.....cheap cut offs for the family with the pockets showing. Yeah....thats nice. This thing has some legs.
Well it’s Florida and you want legs how bout a South Beach motif? I can see it.
So, Travis, have did they issue you and the family a supply of sunscreen, long sleeve shirts, and big floppy sun hats at the ag station? FL wants to take care of the newbies, doesn't want them tying up the ER's with sunburn cases. Especially in S FL, they need the space for shootings, knife wounds, and voodoo hoodoo curse victims.
Oh wait, you were going to do an end around on that. Guess you'll miss out on the free goodies. Gonna hafta get your own I guess.
You have Aviators already I'm assuming, so the eyeballs don't fry in that HOT southern sun. It's so much hotter there than in MT you know.

Aviators is all I need. I drunk stumbled into some incredible Venezuelan food last night. Dynamite.
Hope things go well... I just came through Iowa, 97 degrees and 100 humidity.. And people live there.. At least you have some oceans near by, compare that to pig farms.. Best of luck.. Keep us informed!!!
Flave, I just thought I would mention that the Beartooth Pass is closed again due to heavy snow. I can look out my back door and see the new snow whenever the Sun comes out. Saw some wobbly legged Antelope babies and a cow elk with a spotted calf yesterday. Also the Prairie Dogs and the little ones are out in force! I think they miss you! I have never been to Florida, but I am guessing you will survive! Good luck, Ken

Geeze. Kinda late in the month to shut down the pass again.
Hey Flave , are golf carts legal on the roads there? if so you need one. Golf is the only time it is legal to drink and drive, hell most golfers are drunk.......

Not sure. But the police seem to take things real serious.
Are you kidding, I wouldn't miss a "I'm moving to Florida" thread for anything. That's some real good material right there.
BTW, trying to drag Oregon down to Florida's level in that earlier post, not working. You probly got the people that live in FL but no one else bought it. Enjoy the humidity and cubans.
You should start a pool regarding my move to Florida. You could really cash in.
I've never been wrong about your innernet pranks or persona, but in this case, I really do hope you moved to FL! Maybe you could post up some photos of your latest bug bites, or the day the python got the cat. Maybe a photo of a mosquito cloud.
An Oregonian calling anyone out about where they live is laughable.
It would be a nice place if it had the scenery without the blatant socialism and the people that go along with it. I saw a report yesterday where almost 29% of Oregonians have already learned that green gas is not good since they have been allowed to fill up their own cars. By day 3 it was apparently a real eye opener for lots of people.

If you’re hot no one judges you for putting diesel in your gas tank.
This thread is starting to remind of an old Emerson, Lake and Palmer hit from a few decades back.

So did you find a bar that plays Blackhawk games yet?
Flickerlight on Hollywood Beach.
Nah, he's converting..............gonna be a Lightning fan...............even though their game sweaters have nowhere near the nice emblem the 'Hawks have.
When in Rome ya' know.

PS, Dave's a puss, right? He'll probably stick with the Chicago team. Clark and Dave will pick a winner.

350 miles is a snap for a dude who's lived in MT for a while. That's like a trip to a real city, you know, with a Starbucks, JC penny, and a Costco. He'll drive up for home games when he's not "working".

No one wears a Team Sweater in FL. Team Bikini, maybe.....
Panthers suck, Marlins decent, Fins are questionable.

Actually, one thing I look forward to is NOT having to traverse the state to do something.
Yeah. Because who would want to fish the flats or go bass fishing?
Trav,
don't pick on FB2 so much, his idea has some merit. Scubie diving, or at least snorkeling, will only take away some of your time from bass fishing and the flats. But look at it this way..........get a spear gun or Hawai'in sling and shoot scheidt underwater dude. I hear there are lion fish down there that they consider to be the gophers of the reefs. Vermins, I tell you, and I know how you like to slay those things.

Turns out there was a bunch of butthurt people over that huh? People don't take kindly to having their chain yanked. Yours truly included. Let me know if you really want to go a few more rounds with me, I'll unravel your little world and let the world know about your lying bullsheit.
Just remember, I've never been wrong about you buttercup. Never. Not once. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it homeboy.

Lol last time you did you resorted to some ultimate perv [bleep] asking for pictures of the mans daughter.. So safe to say he unraveled yours when you went to that level. It's human nature to see a man down on his luck, after that chit your ol lady posted on you and guys bagging on you for it. You finally saw an opportunity to poke at deflave and his rehab trip etc. you finally had him you could constantly remind him of it. Then bam it was a [bleep] April fools joke! You didn't have anything to hold over him when he busts your balls on a daily basis. Lol

Actually that April fools thing was childish as heck. But while we offered our support, someone laughed their azz off. Me, I don't understand the draw to acting a fool and lying and such to see what happens, a waste of my time, a waste of your time.
But all that did was for me to just read and laugh at Dave's posts or whoever he is. As you have no clue if any of them are serious or not. Really actually a shame, and should be posted in a humor forum not here, but it is what it is as they say.
this is the "hunter's campfire" no? Can't we have humor here too? We have humor around our campfires where I come from, along with the serious discussions on politics, who's sick and dying, how to fix my plumbing.
I think this is a great place for the Clark/Dave/Travis show. Oh, let's not forget the FB2 component, Kingston, Gus, Wabigoon, etc.
Yes, the April 1 thing was a bit over the top. But I believe it was all in good fun.
Fireball's waiting for Montana pictures on April 1, 2019.
Fireball waiting for anything that doesn’t involve his own life.
LMAO.

I fail to see how an April Fool’s gag could not be all in good fun but to each their own.
I get it Travis, you pulled a joke on April 1. No harm per se in that, in and of itself. But you gotta understand you mock everybody like they're your personal joke material, when in reality a lot of people went out of their way to care about you for real, pray for you, send you sincere well wishes. In return you mock their genuine concern for you and then when it backfired on you, you put it back on them saying they are too sensitive and you have to stop because no one gets a joke. Even now, it's all a joke, "I don't see the harm in it".
The harm isn't for you to decide, it's for them to decide. When you offended all those people, you don't get to tell them they are wrong. Why do I need to point this out to a grown man?
My beef with you is more personal and you know exactly what you've done to piss me off. You don't make any apologies for yourself ever, you just make more jokes, make more ridicule. What kind of a response do you expect to get when this is how you conduct yourself? Most people learn early on that there's a time and a place for all things. Hate to be the one to point it out to you, but not everyone is on your songsheet when it comes to when to jack other people around. You don't seem to have a filter to know when to do what, and what's appropriate. It's rooted in selfishness, always doing what you want at anyone else's expense.

That's not life. At least most peoples lives.
Great.
Here’s an idea.... maybe not read my posts? Worry about yourself? Maybe not give quite as much fugk as you obviously do?
I deleted the post about all the ball lickers. maybe I should rewrite it.

Here's an idea, how about you own your sheit and grow up, treat people with respect, so you don't have to go away for months then come back with a new personality?
You two just need to meet up and work it out like men.
I don't fight fair, nor do I show up to a fight to lose. But I do not wish any harm to come to Travis. Just thought giving a man an honest opportunity to see himself a little bit might help him be a little more introspective.
Should I hold my breath? Odds are not good that would work out.

Yeah we get it. Your wife already told us you’re a lazy, no talent pussy. Aren’t you the one looking for a pine tree to hide under? JFC how can you take Schmitt you read on the internet so serious?

Why do you take my posts so seriously, especially since they have nothing to do with you?
Congrats for being able to type with Travis cock in your mouth. I guess.

I meant shake hands, drink a beer and bury the hatchet.

If I had a wife and she said that, I’d smack the piss out of her, Fireball.

Odd you say that.
I extended an olive branch to Travis via PM years ago. Of course he mocked the effort and turned it into something it wasn't, characterizing it as me wanting to be bestest buds with special him, yuk yuk yuk, which of course was far beneath him. Yeah right, that's why I offered to try and get along, so we could be bestest friends.
I've made the same offer to a few others I got off on the wrong foot with, and never met anyone else that turned it into something it wasn't, no one except Travis of course. Because all he is capable of is mockery. All the support I need is right up there ^^^^^^
There's something wrong with the guy as far as just normal back and forth.

Wow. here's how sick people on the innernet are. What alternate reality do you live in that you think you are clever enough to goad me into anything? Kudos for the effort, but I don't ever take your posts for anything.

F'N TEARS ARE LITERALLY ROLLING DOWN MY CHEEKS FROM LAUGHTER! HAHAHAHAHA OMG
Since you have this weird ass obsession with 'Flave, I think you two should meet somewhere, complete with an orangutan named Clyde for a pet. All of us 'Fire members could circle you and bet on the fight and not make a dime. lol Travis would uproot your pine tree

Damn this thread went from 0-60 real quick. That April fools joke [bleep] with a lot people's heads that day. I guess I'm one of the few that didn't fall for it. But the rest of the 24 hour crew was clamoring hoping the big internet bully they despised so much actually hit rock bottom..
He make Fireballz seems almost kinda normal if you were to look at things from a specific angle most days.
The biggest mistake ever was the running off of safariman. Damn he was always good for a doozy of a post.. the best thread ever is when he was packing heat in Illinois lol..

Oh his dog and pony show is still alive and doing fine on the local Washington hunting and gun forums. For some reason he doesn’t like me asking if he has another yellow avalanche to trade for a kidney. Jokes on him as my kidneys are probably no good, besides I would want the Ruger Charger on top. You know the one Ruger didn’t include a bipod with despite every other one having them.
I’m still passed that Flave sold the NuCanoes. Woulda almost made it worth the drive to buy a trifecta of 2 NuCanoes and the wall tent. I woulda passed on the free throw pillows though.

Did the Ruger Charger bipod ever show up ? Or is still MIA?
Is he waiting til the heat of the day to do that, or what? I fully expected to see some "on location" pics by now. In case you haven't heard, the heat is hot down there.
