Yes, excellent photos. Great black wildbeest and blesbok for sure. Nice!

Marius,
What's the drought situation down there and does it have an effect in your areas or others? Is the Karoo scorched?

One of the best investments a guy can make is in a better camera. Great images. Makes me want to go.
Tell us more about rifles used, calibers and insights about hunting there.

Marius,
What's the drought situation down there and does it have an effect in your areas or others? Is the Karoo scorched? Hi Jeff, It was just starting to get pretty dry, but we had some good rain during this week, which will bring some much needed greens. The karoo is historically drier than other parts, so they can certainly do with some more. It is a little bit our of character to get rains this early, but we are not complaining. We've had some frosty weather this last week with some snow on our surrounding mountains, which makes great conditions for Vaal Rhebuck...

Believe it or not, this was taken with my phone. It has two Leica cameras, and it outperforms my Nikon SLR any day of the week. This hunter used my .300Win Mag, which is suppressed. In the Eastern Cape, a flat shooting calibre is useful, such as a 30-06 with 165gr, or .308Win with 150's. Ranges typically will be between 60 yds - 250yds, as this is generally the distance between the valley faces. Most of the rifles here are suppressed, and everyone that has used them, has only found the experience positive. Saves the ears big time, and reduces the recoil by about 40%. I'm sure some of the photos will show the rifles with the suppressors. New images of next hunters will be up tomorrow....

Great photos, Marius. Thanks for posting.
Am hearing stuff about the politics there in RSA, something like Rhodesia in years past. Govt. displacing white farmers, giving land to natives.
That didn't work, hasn't worked in other places. What's the status there; what are you seeing and what's the time frame?

DF Hi DF, Thank you for the message. Timeframe of what sir? Just like previous years, I explained that the US media takes a story and runs with it. Nothing is happening here. Its business as usual.

Marius--what phone are you using? Thanks. Its the Huawei P20. They come out with a twin Leica camera at 20MP. I dont even carry a normal camera anymore, as they just can't compete with this. All of these photos are stock standard. Zero editing, or filters or anything like that.
