I'll agree with DMc, don't want to serve on that panel. There'd be some good arguments for both sides, and lawyers have a "funny" way with words.

Yeah, if she didn’t want a dead husband, she shouldn’t have been egging him on to attack two guys with guns. Looks to me like self defense, since they were where they had a right to be when the large angry man at least menacingly approached them, and perhaps actually attacked the father (not clear in video). Previous threats were apparently why the duo armed themselves on their trip to the common dumpster. No further analysis should be needed, eg., such as duty to retreat since I assume Texas is at least as good as Florida on that point.

I don't know about self defense, what happened was stupid on the part of everyone involved. Had it occurred on the property of the shooters, I'd agree on the self defense, but it appears that they were in an "alley", which was probably not owned by any of them. To me, this is a hard one to justify, but it was also a case that should never have happened in the first place. It just shows how frigging stupid some people really are.

The old man with the pistol appeared calm as hell throughout the chit-show.
And the yelling guy that got shot must have been a former Marine, because he's yelling in that gruff voice like all Marine drill instructors do the first week of basic training.

I would be a bit more judgmental if I had never got PO’d about stupid crap. I have heard about enough situations tho never to dare anyone with a drawn gun to shoot me like loud guy was in-effect doing.

Sad deal all around. One guy dead, kids with no father, albeit a loud and stupid father.

I’m thinking at the very least Tubbs and Tubbs Jr are gonna lose what little they have to defense lawyers before all is said and done. Otherwise they appear to be so stupid I dunno if having killed someone in an avoidable situation will ever trouble them.

I can’t hear audio on this IPad but I can say I’ve been in two confrontations similar to this since Texas allowed Concealed Carry and I didn’t shoot the other guy.

The bail is set pretty low for a killing.

Abilene is about 90 Miles from me so folks are not much different from me and my neighbors so I’ll make this prediction...... If the PA really wants to work at it, he can get a second degree murder conviction.

If the back story leads him to think the killing is justified, he can get a “ no true bill” from the Grand Jury.

In the audio, Ed tells the dad "I'm going to take that gun and kill you with it." He also tells Randy "I'm going to kill you too you f a g g o t."

Report seems to indicate that the loud mouthed leaker had a baseball bat (deadly force) and made multiple death threats, and moved in on pistol packing papa when jr fired. (In defense of another).

Unfortunate situation, but I think they will both walk free, in the end.

If I were on the jury ....I would convict .....All involved were idiots....One died for it...The others should serve time......Max sentence for the charge....
