I just tried this with about a 2.5lb Axis deer eye of round roast. It was amazing! It was perfectly very pink all the way through. It was between medium and medium rare, and almost tender. capt david https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/94113/high-temperature-eye-of-round-roast/

I used some Au jus gravy mix(FWI, don't add salt until you taste). Today will have French dip! capt david

Pretty much the same method to cook prime rib. Never tried it on venison, might have to give it a whirl.
