I bought a Bansner stock and it has a red pad. I thought it would grow on me but it hasn't so far. Before having it cut off could some of you guys put some pictures up stocks w/a red pad? Thanks in advance, powdr

Red Pachmyer Decelerator is the only pad I'll even consider putting on any of my rifles, they're all wood stocked pre'64 M/70's. On occasion I'll use a red repro Winchester pad even though they're nowhere near as effective in reducing recoil as the Decelerator.

This pad is an original Win pad with the lettering/stamp ground down and buffed off. Good solid narrow pad.

I guess I didn't know how many red ones I have. I guess I need to check out the rest. The first is a pic that Jim sent me of his Goens that he used in Africa on one of his trips.

That is a McMillan Classic Edge in their brown base color with black speckle and the red pad, exact some set-up as Kimber7man's rig. Good combo with a black or stainless rifle IMHO.

You mean to tell me they make pads in colors besides red?

Why?

Red was the standard color when most guns had wood stocks. To me, it's a far more elegant choice than black.

I've got a Bansner stock and I'd love to have a red pad on it, so if you pull that one off and it needs a home, let me know.
