My Auntie only made it to 91 YOA. Married at 17 and they purchased his parents' 150 cow/calf operation. They got in 50 years together before a massive MI took him.
She remarried, a guy from out of state, but from her denomination about a year later. He turned out to be a total POS. About robbed her, and her kids taking over the ranch, blind. Got divorced.
And then she buried three more husbands before the big C finally took her.
Some folks just can't live alone.

I met the love of my life through the girlfriend of a buddy. We hit it off right away and talked for hours the first day that we met. We married a year later on February 28th 1959. She was my strength, the rudder on my ship, the railing on my balance beam for over 57 years. She died in my arms on August 10th 2016, not a day goes by that I don't think of her.
I wrote a poem and read it at her Memorial Service, titled .
She Was Here
I remember the day that we met, it doesn't seem that long ago
That red head girl would steal my heart, but then how was I to know
I remember the day we got married, we vowed our love without fear
we signed our names both mine and her's so I know that she was here
I close my eyes and I see her face, I heard her call my name today
I see her touch wherever I look, I guess it will always be that way
In our house I see her things, the things that she held dear
I hold them, touch them and smell them, so I know that she was here
I see her kind and gentle spirt in our son's and our daughter too
she passed it on to our grandkids and our great grandkids before she was through
I try to recall everyday those memories that I hold so dear
I keep those memories in my heart so I know that she was here
I cherish the time we had together but God's promise is very clear
I'll see her again when he calls me home, because he knows that we were here

We met on a blind date. 46 years later, we're still married. God bless that little woman.

Met my first wife in a bar. Her younger sister was putting the moves on me and my eventual wife decided I would not be good for her sister so she cut in and told her sister to get lost, that I was hers. HA! Guess it worked, though. Looking back, it would have been smarter of me to have just picked up and left! Live and learn, I guess.
Second wife, I met in a bar. She was on a date with another guy and me and the guy started talking hunting. We exchanged email addresses to stay in touch and maybe hunt together. I emailed him to make sure of the email address and to say it was nice to meet him and his date. A few days later, I get a call at work from his date. The guy had forwarded my email to her and she got my number from that email. She asked if I wanted to go out with her the next weekend. Of course I said yes. She was basically living with me after a few weeks. After she finished law school, she moved in with me and we were married within 6 months of meeting. Surprisingly, I never heard back from her date to go hunting with him!!

First met Deb, when we were 13, at Coed, Lutheran private high school. Started dating when we were 16 & married at 22. It'll be our 31st Anniversary in September. Do you keep reminding her how lucky she is? Yes ! & I taught her well !!

i use to have to walk from the bank up to the post office to get the mail, she did the same thing from the business she worked from. Finally asked her to lunch one day and knew within ten minutes i was in trouble. i was 27, she was 37 and divorced with three kids. word on the street at the time was we wouldn't last one year. been over 40 years now, best thing i ever did in my life was to convince her to take me in.

A few years ago! With our first Grandson. My wife of almost 58 years with one of our Grand Daughters on the right and our 10yr old Great grand Daughter on the left. Yes, we are very fortunate folks. Dang, I can't turn the first photo around.
