A question for all of you Movie buffs out there. Who knows the make, model and caliber of the rifle carried by "Walk'n Boss" that he used to kill Luke ??

I need one of those super accurate rifles. Do you remember when he shot the hawk in flight with open sights???

I'll give him the layup shot on the snapping turtle. But the flying hawk.. com'on man!!

That's why my wife and kids hate to watch movies with me..

I'm thinking that it was a Winchester Model 70, don't remember why. I haven't seen the movie since the year that it was released, so I won't bet any money on it. smirk

Ever thought about typing your question into Google?

That's what I did:

google takes the challenge and fun out of it. Just trying to stir a little conversation to break up the cabin fever.

Ok. Now see if Google can tell you what caliber it was in. Cartridges in the shell holder on his belt looked bigger than 22-250 or 223 or 243.

Open sights is about the only way to hit a flying target. Scopes don't work very well on birdguns...

Forget about the rifle. I want Charlie's 16 shot revolver he used in Open Range.

No need to reload so often.

A Creedmoor. Any Creedmor.

The link I posted above says 30-06. Looks about right. And fits the scenario of what calibers movie blanks were used..

Youre contradicting yourself.

You state that google takes the challenge and fun out of it BUT then you want us to google the caliber for you?

When I was young my dad and I were doing something on our hills farm. Lots of cattails and blackbirds. With his old 22 he showed me how he could shoot them out of the air. Didn’t do me any good but was very impressed. When deer hunting. We always pushed the deer out. He would roll em over with ease. Ed k
