CTR with rail, Warne Mountain Tech lows, Athlon Midas 2.5-15x50. Don't care for rail on rail but it works this time.

Just FYI, this is what they actually look like. No extra slot outside of the screw holes.

I have a set of the modified Talley's on a 7-08 and they work great. I've come to wonder why though, that folks dont' mount directly to the dovetail? It's a much better situation IMHO. Thanks for posting that image - pretty much exactly the setup I'll be running - My SM rings are inbound from the UK. I assume you're running the recoil pin up front but nothing on the rear ring?

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Yessir. I think you'll really be impressed with them. Let us know if you don't mind.

Mentioned somewhere about ringmount height vs objective diameter and how it depends upon scope length and barrel contour. 30mm 8x56mm in Warne lows. I filed the scope tube a hair and a half to clear.

Ring spacing,is your scope's BEST friend.

Have said it before but it beats repeating- unless you need the inclination and/or ability to swap scopes that pic rings offer, you are missing some of the advantage of the integral rail on the Tikka. Have used every combination mentioned. Most extensively. Sportsmatch are extremely reliable in holding POI, postition the scope low, allow decent ring spacing, and are relatively inexpensive.
For hunting, Sportsmatch T084. Anyone have a link for these rings?
