I may 'have' to grab one in 9mm simply for ammunition comparability. How's that for an excuse! That's legit....smile

160gr 4.5grs of Unique, 10 rounds at 20 yards, sitting on ground with arms on knees. Nice!

Thay's nice!
I have three Rugers in the safe now in 327. I am impatiently waiting on the LCRx3 to join the herd, and then a Henry.
I would order the LCRx3 in 357, but..... With the 327 loaded super lite (near 22 mag) to 38 equivalent, and several 41 mag revolvers loaded from 38 spec equivalent, up to near 44 mag levels with 250 gr bulllets I can not justify adding another cartridge, with attendant brass, dies, bullet molds, and bullets to the mix. The 327 looks like a lot of fun and versatility. I've been tempted, but have resisted adding another bore size/chambering to the logistics train. But hey, you are already deep into 327 territory, so you might as well add one more.

It is very versatile. I only use 327 brass, but load 78 gr cast over 3.0 gr of Universal to a COAL to approximate a 32 S&W Long. Or the 85 gr XTP over 4.2 gr of SR4756 to a COAL to approximate a 32 H&R. And my SD load for the Ruger 4 inch SP101 is a 115 gr gold dot over 12.8 gr H110.
I also have an Accurate mould for 90 and 120 gr flatpoints which we shoot in the Ruger Single Sevens. Low velocit5y w/ the 90 gr for the grandkids. Near maximum loads with H110 with the 120s for longer distance and ringing steel.

I may 'have' to grab one in 9mm simply for ammunition comparability. How's that for an excuse! Sounds like valid reasoning to me. ....but I've about stopped trying to come up with reasons or excuses so I'm not one to consider as a pillar of validity there.

So, what are you guys using for aftermarket grips on the LCR?
Is the grip frame identical between the LCR in 38 special, etc and the LCRx3 in 357? I see mention the 357 is heavier.

Rumor has it the LCRx 3 inch is coming soon in 9mm and 327. Depends on what you call soon. Average time is one year between bringing out something.

I'm using the one that came with. Thanks Scott. My buddy's 38 is pretty easy to handle with the original grips using mild ammo. But I have pretty big paws, fat fingers, and appreciate a longer grip which lets me get a firm grip on a handgun.

No it is not. I have not actually seen a 3 inch yet. With a longer grip, it should be quite suitable in 327.

Thanks again, The three inch would definitely work better in my fat fingers with hotter loads.
I use Altimont target style grips on my S&W 657s, and bisleys on my single actions.
Grins for the snake target. I need to buy some gas checks and build some shot loads.

Handled it at SHOT. It's a sweet little gun and Ruger got it right, perfect for concealed carry to backpacking, hiking, woods, and even hunting. Someone finally put adjustable sights on a semi-compact, lightweight 357. Kimber released several new revolvers and semi-autos at SHOT, not one had had adjustable sights, which completely relegates them to self-defense close-range use only. Dumber than dumb on a 357 IMO. I'd have liked a six shot version, but otherwise no complaints and well done, assuming it shoots well. If the price is decent, I'd like to add one to the safe this year.

Picked up the new revolver today.....pretty sweet!
I'm really happy with it on first blush. I only fired five rounds through it this evening as light was fading. Just a quick function check.
Load was 6.0 gr Unique under a 170 gr cast SWC. Quickload predicts 1050 fps, at 28K psi. I'm sure some speed is lost at the gap, but should be an honest 1000 fps.
Nice little push of recoil, but Ruger really got the grip right. No bite at the web, or knuckle mashing by the trigger guard.
Weight is slightly forward, but seems perfect for managing recoil. Weighs 21.4 ounces unloaded, on my scale.
Wife really likes it too, but she hasn't shot it yet.
We are getting some colder winter weather here, and plenty of snow, but I'll get some target results in the not too distant future.
