Not on my part. I hold 6 world records in bench, mostly in a bench shirt. Currently at 174 bodyweight, 63 years old, 525 shirted, drug free bench. Some of us are unusual. Not at much else. That stuff, I can still do. For now.
I used to do 57 push-ups in a minute to max out my PT test. Got older and my max became fell to 44. I would always quit when I got my max, why do any more I don't get bonus points. As an olde retiree now, I stick to weights with running or the elliptical on alternating days.
Typically would do pyramids starting at 30 and going down by 5 every rep.
So dropped and knocked out 42 quick just to make sure I didn't need to turn in my man card according to Deflave.
I did the same, I haven't done 40+ since I retired. Needless to say, I can still max out that part of the AF PT test, sit-ups as well. Waist and run time, well they need some work.

I just did as many as I could. Tried to make 200. 100%. I didn't care where it put me. The deal was to do my best. Whether it's 20 or 200, it's just as hard, if it's a max effort.
The guys were fuggin around at work and we had a competition to see who could do most push ups. My buddy, competing body builder, did 100. He is 41. I did 65. I am 42. All of the 20 year olds did less than 30. One dude, a CrossFit coach did exactly 30. I worry for the youngsters...
