I don’t believe it helps our case when historically racially loaded terms like those in the OP are used. When things happen as the OP relates and such terms are used it’s easier for the other side to justify the initial wrong and make the racial language the point of emphasis rather than the violence done.
I don’t care for anyone who behaves that way, but using that as justification for calling whole groups of people who look similar to the perps subhuman is illogical. I don’t like it when it’s done to me and those who look like me so I don’t think it’s good to turn the tables.
