Why do you think they want to stop any sales of guns without a background check. They dont care about safety. Its so there is a record of the purchase. Using the background check thing as a way of determining if you have a firearm only works if there is a record made if you dispose of it. So they want to close any transfer that doesnt make a record. So you cant say , well I sold that.

You are exactly right and I've been saying the same thing on here for many years. Some on here are for Universal Background Checks and others are for Red Flag Laws. Both are extremely bad. Universal Background Checks may or may not pass a Constitutional test, but just because they may be legal under the Constitution does not mean that they are good or desirable. They are bad and undesirable. Red Flag Laws are not Constitutional at all and more easily demonstrated so than Universal Background Checks.
Universal Background Checks are nothing more than de-facto gun registration.
The only gun control that'd satisfy them is to take them all.
............. That's the end goal. Except they can't take such drastic measures... yet. Have to chip away at it for decades a little at a time. Make it so expensive, and/or hard, and demonized that gun owners, ( AKA dangerous extremist nut cases), become a small minority and then they can be dealt with much more easily. All in the name of being common sense, reasonable, and necessary for public safety.
I am not defending gun registration in any way. I just want to point out that in the computer age, if they ever want to go after everyone's guns it really wont be that hard. Carry permits will lead them right to your door. Bought a hunting license from the state? Looking at our bank and credit card statements to see if we purchased from suspicious vendors(basspro/cabela's). Looking through the customer purchases of vendor like midway and such. Tracking down posters on forums like this. No registration will slow them down some but they will eventually show up at everyone's door if they get their way.

Every fuggin gun law on the books is unconstitutional and I don't give a damn what the supreme court/govt. has to say about it. I can read for myself what the second amendment says and I've read the Federalist and anti Federalist papers and understand exactly what the founders intended the 2nd to mean. "Shall not be infringed" is really pretty simple and easy to understand and any law regulating or restricting firearms in any way is undeniably an infiringement.
We are the militia the Constitution talks about. We are the last line of defense should the world fall into war and we can no longer count on the military to defend us. After all, what are going to be the primary targets of a hostile force ?? The Pentagon and large military bases across America. When they have been neutralized who is left ?? Us, that's who. Just ask the Kurds or the Venezuelans what happens when you surrender your arms or you have a small weak and ineffective government that is supposed to protect you. Things are getting ugly.

That is why some states already record make, model, and serial number with your name on each background check.
Are there states that don't record serial, make and model?
Just asking
Been that way in my super red state of hillbilly utopia since I bought my first rifle in the 1980s.
Idaho uses FBI "Instant Check" Your name, SS # optional, Rifle? Shotgun? or Handgun? That is all the FBI asks for.
The 4473 is a different matter. It records identifying firearms data, but it is not automatically uploaded to federal or state data base. Although, I would not place any bets with Walmart's electronic 4473.

Would a background check requirement for the purchase of a printing press be "constitutionally legal?"
