That's the Golden Corral express chariot. Haha Yeah, they love them buffets. North of the state line, they'll compete with the Negroes for the crablegs at the Ho Le Fok café.

If the unloaded diameter of a radial tire and a bias-ply is the same, the rolling diameter will be the same. The contact patch on the radial may well be longer but the distance around the tire is still the same. When it comes to matching tires on a 4wd, diameter is everything and brand or type is secondary. but if you road the tractor much (I do) the bias ply tires wear out much quicker on the pavement.
Barry, that would explain why the fronts(bias) are shot on my dad's machine. We bought it used with only 1700 hours on it and the fronts were pretty much toast. Richard, I think the smaller fronts for my tractor cost more than the rears! 16.9-26's versus 18.4-38's... Sam, I have 16.9-24's on the rear of my old 4000 ford and just bought new tires last year. IIRC, they were around $550 per tire and that included new tube, antifreeze, and mounting. I didn't get the cheapest or the most expensive. 8 ply?

Thanks for all the replies. OM3, those must have been bias ply? Did a quick internet search and the 16.9R26's were $1250 apiece. Waiting on the local tire man to get me a price. Hell maybe I don't need to replace them? Not really pulling anything hard, more or less just worried about mud this spring and moving bales, dragging the pickup around if need be...

I'm half afraid to jinx it...
You KNOW if I buy new tires we'll have a dry spring.....
But this snow is gonna make some mud for sure. March and April can be a messy time of the year!

Not quite yet Richard.
Heifers are scheduled to start on the 19th, cows on the 26th.
I thought it was earlier but my old man was just trying to scare me into getting ready a little quicker!
It's warmed up really nice lately. Currently 29F and the forecast looks perfect.
Barry, better to have 'em and not need rather than need and not have!

Here back in the 90's Sam, I'da said those tires were just gettin' broke in!
I used to buy used tires, and run miss matched tires just to save the cash.

Richard, they are just fine for loader work.
On dry or frozen ground.....
And like Barry mentioned, they'll be on there next year.
Hell, I figure we put maybe 400-500 hours a year on that machine so they'll last quite awhile.
But I hear you, hate to spend money if you don't need to.
At least chit like that keeps the tax man happy.

Lean the old ones against a shed in the shade and you'll have spares you'll never use but you'll feel more frugal. haha I hate dropping coin on tires too and I'm just in for pick'm up truck tires, half those prices. Sure like having new tires though!

I use to mount tractor tires. I'm too old for that now.

Salty, my dad was already thinking we could swap my used tires to another tractor we basically keep as a spare but the rim size was off.....
You know we ain't throwin 'em away!
Barry, my next door neighbor is the tire man.... And he is a good dude, owns his shop and works his ass off. And we drink beer together.
No way in hell would I ask him to mount some ordered tires!
You know what I mean. Gotta spend a little extra and shop local.....

Those look like they got a lotta life yet. We run our 6310 til the tires are so smooth they start loosing air pressure. It will still go better than a 2wd any day. Barry
