I must admit I would much rather have a .358win Miroku BLR ..

My how time flies, it doesn't seem like 40 yrs ago...

but It was about that time I got hooked on the idea of a Weatherby- and it wasn't all that long before
I had three of his proprietary MkV chamberings... grin

The ones that say Winchester behind its name would be .284, .264, .338 and .358. Honorable mention to the .356.

These are the finest pure hunting rounds ever created IMHO.

No argument - that combo has so much going for it...my .338 (when I had need for such)
was my preferred goto ..

Oh, by a landslide, the .270 wcf. Better than ever these days and I am approaching 50 years with it now. I always default to it. Still , as good of a Sheep round as ever designed.

1 - .270 Win
2 - .243 Win
3 - .30-30 WCF
4 - .358 Win
5 - .308 Win

These are the ones I own as well, multiples of the first three and one each of the last two.

I have to say .308, but in reality, my all time favorite is the 7mm-08 Remchester.
