In my experience buyers have an aversion to guns with DL numbers engraved on them, they seem to think there's a possibility they're stolen.

Back in the days when ships were made of wood and men were made of steel some people engraved numbers on their guns to claim ownership. I believe this had to do with their military experiences as my WWII vet grandfather did the same to all his guns.
Beavis - Don't let this tough crowd discourage you or discount your classic rifle. There are some really good guys here amongst a few internet bullies.
