An outrageous scope would be a Swarovski z8i 2.3-18X56. One of the best scopes I have compared. Outrageous? Yeah, I'll go with that description.

I've never needed more than a 2.5x8 Leupold for those distances. When hiking mountains, every ounce saved makes a difference! exactly, gets my vote, too Tom

I don't dial it much, but I've got a Leupy 2-12x VX6 on my Tikka 7mag. It's been to Africa a few times, MX once, and a couple of other states besides hunting it pretty hard here in TX. It's been bulletproof, and it has the best plex reticle I've ever seen on any scope at any price.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

You are waaay over thinking it No doubt for a 7mm mag at 300 yards. Used 3 to 10's to a 1000 many times with out feeling handicapped. Then again this is just my opinion.

I've never hunted any bears, but I can't imagine a 160 Accubond not doing the job.

I sent it back and got it repaired. In the summer of 78 I bought a Vari X III 2.5 x 8 and a Redfield JR 1 piece mount and rings. Put it all together it is still there, never had to do much for scope adjusting after it was set ,usually to check zero before the season or after changing loads. Totally trouble free a timeless example of the KISS principle. I never worry about it at all once I check it, that's how much confidence it gives you. MB

Glad to hear your coming my way for a bear hunt! I'm sure you will see some nice bears and some real nice country. You will do just fine with any of those scopes you listed or equivalent. That is what most of the guys around here hunt with. Much of the terrain here on the west coast of BC is very rugged mountains and a mix of dense forests and opened up with logging roads and logging slashes/clear cuts. The weather can still be pretty unsettled here in the spring so I am sure you would appreciate having a good rain jacket and a good pair of waterproof boots. I have the LL Bean Maine hunting boots that I like as my hunting boots.
