Google Jim Wheat, Winkler County TX landowner full of oil wells. He caught two yankees trespassing (quail hunting) on his place. He killled one dead as a hammer, and had mercy on the other. Look it up.

All I did was ask straightforward questions.

You started babbling about some hunter that said GD once upon a time in front of a kid or some schit.

Best I can tell my original point stands. Hogs are not a problem for the vast majority of Texas landowners.

Hogs are likely not a problem, which has been established. Another is that you don't read very well.

My brother in law has been shooting hobs North of Plains TX.and to date has killed over 150 hogs in 18 months.

He has been going at night after hanging cameras to get an idea of their travel lines.

Where this place is there are only a few mesquite trees and a large flat of chinnery not much over knee high.

The hogs get in that stuff and they disappear.
Thermal helps a bunch.

Roger, that's where my mom grew up. Like you, I hunted there on aunt's and uncle's places. Pheasant hunting was pretty good most of the time.

Texas and proud really don't mix.

You're solid proof of that.

Not too far from where we hunted. Their farm was in Friona.

DYNAMITE hunting. Absolute dynamite. And this is coming from a guy that has hunted COCK in South Dakota, Nebraska, and Montana.

My buddy has gotten into those things for coyote calling in northern Illinois.

It has been very effective. And calling dogs around there isn't real easy.

I had a landowner ask me to take out hogs when I saw them. I did not solicit him to do so first. His pasture is across the road from our place. I said I'd be happy to do it, but he would need to grant me written permission to access his land and do it. He balked at that. I said I can't shoot across his fence without written permission, but even then, couldn't do it because it would be considered hunting from the road and a warden could cite me for it. Wouldn't grant access. So I call him when I see hogs and let him deal with it. It's funny though, I wasn't asking to hunt on his property. Merely, that if he wanted me to shoot hogs when I see them, that I be able to cross the fence and shoot them legally.

Oh I get it.

Those Texans are a hoot.

One of my favorite varmint spots in MT was owned by an old timer. He passed and I didn't dare bother his family for a couple years asking to shoot gophers or call dogs. But his neighbor told me who was managing the sections one spring and I looked him up in the phone book.

Four fuggin' years I hunted that place without ever meeting the guy. He was in his early 30's. I'd call and he'd say "Oh sure Travis, just please don't shoot the cows. You're always welcome."

Never even fugkin' met the guy!
