Police say the man was with a group of people inside a room at the Omni Hotel on Shoreline. The 18-year-old man, who police say was intoxicated, fell from the 11th floor. He hit a tarp and some plexiglass and that may have helped break his fall. The unidentified man was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. Police say a criminal mischief charge is pending because of damage to the inside of the hotel room.

there was a girl who fell off the 8th floor balcony of a hotel out on north beach several years ago, she was able to walk away with just bruises, sand cushioned her fall.

Yeah, i think that helped break his fall better than concrete. No, Concrete is very efficient in breaking falls. In fact it breaks the fall immediately. Stupid drunk MFer can't even manage an attempt at the Darwin Award.
