I didn’t need this rifle at all, but badly wanted it after I picked it up. A CZ550 American in 9.3x62 (oxymoron I know) that appears to be either seldom or never fired. I saw one a few years back in the composite stock, and have regretted not buying it since... I wasn’t going to let that happen this time. This American stock is absolutely beautiful and quite trim compared to the pig that was on the 550 UHR I briefly owned. Talleys are in the mail, now I need dies, brass, 250gr accubonds...

Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

That's the best looking 550 I've ever seen. I've seen some 527s with pretty wood, and some 452s, but never seen anything "nice" on a 550. That one is SHARP!

You scored, no doubt.
I owned one before and it had nothing on that one!

Very nice, I think I would have had trouble passing on that one.

Dang now you all are making me self-conscious about how to scope it up. I have a VX3i 3.5-10, but wondering if the Czech rifle deserves a Meopta or Swaro Z3?

Here's an unusual 550 FS with Conquest 3-9x40 (sent it back for elevation turret). Those work well with 550's. This one is a 7x57. DF

That'll work. I've posted JB's 9.3x62 loads before, will do it again. Proven loads, pressure tested and they work. DF

"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown

My go to load in the past was Norma Brass, 250 gr. Accubonds, 58 gr. varget, Fed 210M primers and 3.290 OAL. I upped the last loads to 60 grains. The Nosler #7 manual shows 56.5 grains of Varget as max load, with 52.5 grs. of Varget shown as the most accurate load with the 250 Accubonds. It is seldom that I load over book max, but I did on the Sako, and had no problem with blown primers or stretched cases. Sako 75 Hunter. Originally 30-06, re-bored to 9.3 x 62. ya! GWB

I really like that scope, have one on my Champlin and Haskins, Len Brownell built 7RM. With the quarter rib and long ring spacing, not any scope would work. Actually Zeiss 1.5-4.5x18, not Swaro... I like your FS 550, nice wood. DF
