I like your FS 550, nice wood.

Yep we’ve discussed them before . Really love that model Zeiss . But I picked up the Swarovski and swapped the Zeiss over to a 375 H&H

I can't blame on you that grab. I've owned 2. Both were accurate but neither looked anywhere that nice. I've seen worse looking Supergrade stocks. Mine loved the 250 grain accubonds and the 286 Oryx/Megas.

Beautiful piece and a GREAT caliber.

Gotcha.

jorge, regarding CZ's, they are generally very accurate.

Looking at the typical CZ bore thru the Hawkeye shows a slick bore, near custom barrel quality. A LONG way from the average Rem or Salvage tube with tool marks. It's a wonder some of them shoot as well as they do.

The CZ OEM trigger has MIM parts. If you adjust to eliminate the set trigger feature, you lock the trigger in forward position. Removing the barreled action with that set up can put the trigger in a bind, even break it. The answer is elongating the trigger slot in the bottom metal, or leaving the set trigger configuration as is.

I broke mine, ended up with a Timney.

Nice looking x62. I highly recommend changing out the safety to a M70 type. The trigger on those adjust nicely. Toss on a sling swivel and a front sight and get yourself a peep sight from NECG and you'll really be cookin'!

I have the same rifle, but not as good wood. Close but not that nice. Very accurate, the loads shown have been all I've ever needed. You'll like it.

I much prefer the standard 3 pos saftey on that cz to a swing out Winchester style. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Beautiful rifle! If you haven’t settled on a scope, don’t bypass a used Leupold 1.75-6.

Did you find this in a gun shop in Alabama? If so, let me know where as I need to start shopping there.

I would seriously consider putting a VX6 1-6 on it. I used those on my last trip to Africa on a 404 J and 375 H&H. Was not left wanting at all.

Rings, brass, and dies arrived. Still waiting on the Accubonds to get here, and I'll get the Varget locally. The medium Talley's are still too low for the ocular on my Razor LH 1.5-8, so the VX3i gets the nod for now.

I also swapped the plastic follower in favor of a steel one from CZ USA.

Ive got 3. All of mine came with the machined steel follower and a 3 pos saftey. Mine also came from the factory free floated, glass AND pillar bedded. I wonder when the switchover to plastic was on the follower? Take a gander down that barrel when you get a chance. They do a very very nice job finishing them.

Im a big fan of the triggers. Simple to adjust and an open design that's easy to clean.

All i shoot anymore

JWood - what a great rifle! I'm looking forward to range and hunt reports, if they have lots of photos of that rifle. Wow!

All - my goodness - thanks for posting more photos of terrific rifles...

Quak, My 1998 7x64 FS has a plastic follower and had a plastic floorplate. Bought a steel one from CZ-USA for $110 but, made do with the follower since it was another 75 bucks. BTW, I have a brand new steel floorplate for the CZ-550 magnum I would make someone a deal on.

Update:

I found a smoking deal on a SHV 3-10 demo with the illuminated duplex reticle. This is an amazing scope, and it just clears the bolt handle with Warne mediums. It’s heavy compared to a VX3, but this rifle is already a tank. I’ve got two load tests assembled with 250gr accubonds and 270gr speers, both over Varget.
