I'm going to buy a new squirrel/coyote shooter next week.

I have a ton of .223 ammo, so that will be the caliber of choice.

I'm looking at a Remington 700 sps stainless, heavy fluted barrel, with a Stocky's laminated thumbhole stock and and an affordable scope with perhaps mildots and maybe aTimney trigger.
It's squirrels and coyotes...not Stone Sheep and Brown Bears, so if I miss I'm not getting foreclosed on....🤣
Can I tap into the 24 HRCF brain trust?
Is the stock too gawdy?...

Harry...that stock .....uhhhhh...no. Good choice on the rifle though, and the trigger!

Make sure you get a fast twist, 1:8 or better, so you can shoot heavier bullets.

Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Get a rifle with a modern barrel twist and a trigger you don’t have to change
Tikka would be my choice

Gawdy? Yes

But, if you like it, why would you care what anyone else thinks?

If weight isn't a factor ( and it seems it isn't...) Try a Burris FFII 4.5-14...lotsa deals available on them. Good sturdy scope.
