I'm going to buy a new squirrel/coyote shooter next week. I have a ton of .223 ammo, so that will be the caliber of choice. I'm looking at a Remington 700 sps stainless, heavy fluted barrel, with a Stocky's laminated thumbhole stock and and an affordable scope with perhaps mildots and maybe aTimney trigger. It's squirrels and coyotes...not Stone Sheep and Brown Bears, so if I miss I'm not getting foreclosed on....🤣 Can I tap into the 24 HRCF brain trust? Is the stock too gawdy?...

Harry...that stock .....uhhhhh...no. Good choice on the rifle though, and the trigger!

Make sure you get a fast twist, 1:8 or better, so you can shoot heavier bullets.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.
Democrats would burn this country to the ground, if they could rule over the ashes.

Gawdy? Yes
But, if you like it, why would you care what anyone else thinks?
By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

I was hoping for your thoughts on the stock

No Nightforce or Schmitt and Benders...🤣 If weight isn't a factor ( and it seems it isn't...) Try a Burris FFII 4.5-14...lotsa deals available on them. Good sturdy scope.
