Have a pair of LL Beane Maine Hunting shoes from when I was a senior in high school, 1978. They are on their 3rd set of rubber bottoms though. I believe that brand/model of boot is legendary.

Dad bought me the Sorels I wear regularly in 1984. There frequently paired with red checked wool hunting pants bought for him by granddad in the late '50's. They came my way after they mysteriously shrank back in the late '80s.

Set of jungle fatigues and boots from 1968, fatigues are unused, boots are well worn and still have some red dust in the seams.

Actually have 2 pair. Second pair is only 30 years old. This model was the insulated hunting shoe with gore-tex bootie and a bob sole. Unfortunately when I resoled them had to get the regular bottoms, the bob type no longer available. Love the uninsulated boots for early season bird hunting then switch to the other pair when the temperature drops.

Just today was trying to decide whether to toss them - a very much worn pair of low top PUMA sport shoes from 1958 when playing college soccer. Molded and studded sole - no removable cleats. That was new. I think the PUMA were first imported from Germany at about that time.

why keep a pair of brogans around like Pa Kettle? I would think anything more than 5-10 yrs old would be dried, dry-rotted, stiff and uncomfortable as heck. Why the hoarding, sentimental? For footwear?
I have a pair of steel toed Justins, wellingtons. Probably 6 years.
They are only good for weed eating and tilling. They were probably only good for such when new too. But they are gawd awful rough and stiff.

Oldest shirt I have is called a "Melton Wintermaster"; which is some kind of wool blend. This one dates to 1973, as I recall buying it from a nearby Surplus / Outdoor store that was close to where I was living in 1973. Still in good shape because it only gets worn for cold weather deer hunting. Was wearing it Nov. 25th, 1989 when I shot the biggest whitetail of my life, (so far) and you can see it under my jacket in the picture when I was posing for the "happy hunter" photo with my gun & the deer.

Probably my wool bibs. The rest is interchangeable. The new clothes are so much better than most of the stuff from even 5 years ago, it makes no sense to keep it around.

I just gave away a pair of good cowboy boots I got from Eddie Bauer in 1982. Double lined and standing as tall as new. Re-soled a couple times. They had some use marks, but nowhere near quitting. I have a leather belt I wear frequently that is possibly as old as I am. Damn, did I used to be thinner! But I don't need a new hole yet, so I call that winning.

I still have the parka I was issued when I went to Thule Greenland in 1963, like someone mentioned earlier it is heavy and the hood is fitted with real fur, unlike the newer ones with synthetic fur.
I have a pair of lightweight warm weather LaCrosse knock-offs of the L L Bean hunting boots that I bought in the early 70's, the soles are worn to the point that they are slick and I can't wear them on ice or snow but I still get a lot of use out of them.

A pair of Frey boots that I bought in '77. Took 6 mos. of every day wear to break them in. Lotsa blisters. Now they are like a pair of old friends. Only get worn on casual nights out or if we go throw dice. My lucky boots!!

I have an old Navy jacket that my father had in WW II on LST 29. They were issued cold weather gear as if going to the Aleutians but ended going to Tarawa, Kwajalein and Eniwetok. It’s black with “US NAVY” in white letters on the back. I kinda took it over for a hunting jacket as a teenager. It’s a bit tight now but still in petty good shape.
