We have got one by the back door, that has got to be 5-1/2 to 6 inches long. Biggest one I’ve ever seen. Brown head ,legs, and a yellow abdomen!
Well we're Green and we're Gold, and we play better when it's cold. All us Cheese heads have our favorite superstar. We love Brett Favre.

Someone said that on here a while back. I don’t think that’s true. Never been bit by one.

I have. Us kids used to play with them, get a little rough with them as kids will and they can nail you good. They will let you go but it seems like forever. It was a hellofa pinch, didn't break the skin. Almost as bad as a big grasshopper, it's memorable. Running through an unmowed field with a cousin one July Fourth one found it's way into my jeans pocket and latched on. Outside they're easy to brush off but inside a pocket takes a while.

My grandkids were playing with one awhile back, and it didn't bite them. I have handled a lot of them and have never even thought they could bite.
But, I don't think ours are big enough to do any damage to humans.

They can and will bite if properly motivated, but are not venomous and will not really hurt anything but your pulse rate a little.

Good photo DD !
I never knew they could fly until I tried to grab one off the front door the other day.

see the real big ones this time of the year while bush hogging the weeds. Like someone mentioned, seems like 4-5 inches.
