That’s a big old oak tree!!!
I’d bet money crime rates would go down substantially if criminals knew they’d swing by the neck until dead mere minutes after the trial was completed. I vote we bring bag public hanging immediately!

It's scary when stuff like that happens close to home. Always make you wonder "what if." It can happen anywhere at anytime to anyone. Stay paranoid, wear your gun, practice often. mike r

These pukes crashed these folks ranch gate open, entered her house armed to steal stuff, and then shot her.

Goliad, Texas
An official Texas Historic Landmark, the Goliad Hanging Tree is a symbol of justice, Texas-style. For 24 years the court trials of Goliad County were held under this big oak tree. Death sentences were carried out promptly, usually within a few minutes, courtesy of the tree's many handy noose-worthy branches. The tree also served as a gallows for a number of impromptu lynchings during the 1857 "Cart War" between Texans and Mexicans.
No tally was kept for how many men died in The Hanging Tree, but some estimates range into the low hundreds.

It doesn't have enough branches for all those corrupt D.C. thugs.

Seems like enough locals showing up masked and armed to take possession of the prisoner immediately after conviction might get something accomplished. Forty or so would do it, and then hang the bastards from that tree in front of everyone. Then do like them folks in MO and everybody heard it from around the corner but didn’t see nothin’. Put the fear in the crooks and the sheriff all at the same time. County gets a rep that keeps the trash elsewhere, everybody wins. At a minimum, if the [bleep] ever get out of jail, there should be a couple of local boys there to pick them up and make sure they “leave the country”.
Nobody would do that to my family and live to brag about it. Cops can’t do what needs to be done, so they would be best served by standing aside and looking elsewhere whilst those who can handle the business do so. There is a vast amount of bullschit that happens simply and only because the schitheads that do it know nothing really bad is going to happen to them. We need to be about changing that if we desire a drop in crime.

Use that 10/22, shoot them both in the eye, throw the bodies to the hogs. No shooting. Just hogs. Hungry hogs or dogs. Hanco always has pics of hogs trapped in a pen. Big jail cell, sounder of hogs, two bad guys. Water supply for all. No food. Televise it. Run a numbers game, which hog bites first? Who? Where? When? Time from first bite to death. Of second? My idea, i get 10% for origination of concept.

Across the street from The Hanging Tree restaurant. https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/30040Not sure I’d go bragging on the Cart War. Before air conditioning San Antonio was Texas’s largest city,,and before the railroad a major proportion of San Antonio’s commerce rolled on two-wheeled Mexican carretas AKA ox carts. These were inexpensive but slow, a journey between San Antonio and the coast taking the better part of two weeks. Nevertheless even ice blocks were transported from the coast to the San Antonio merchants this way. IIRC at least 500 carts were running at any given time in the 1850’s, each a Tejano family endeavor, the cart crews spending most of their lives on the road. To an extent entirely forgotten in pop history today, the Goliad/Victoria area was at one a rough and lawless area. The “Cart War” in which local residents overwhelmed the poorly armed cart crews weren’t much more than piracy. Unfortunately for the Anglo side, they PO’d the powerful San Antonio merchants, who economic fortunes were tied to that same cart traffic. Which is exactly why the Texas Rangers we’re hastily summoned and sicced upon the Anglo residents doing the plundering, thus restoring the peace.
