What are some good budget scope for a muzzleloader? Hunt in the woods and looking from something from 150 yards and in and that is reliable but doesnt break the bank.

My favorite for quality at a low price. Can be had for about $150 on sale. Cabelas is running the Fullfield E1 for $149 now.

Both of mine have Sightron SII 3-9 scopes on them. Prior to that I had good service out of a Redfield 2-7. The 'easy button' is probably the Burris Fullfield II.

I have a Hawke Endurance 30, 1.5-6x44, that I got for a very good price from Cameraland, on a T/C Impact muzzleloader. I think this scope is perfect for the Impact. It has an illuminated reticle, the adjustments have been spot-on, and it has held zero without fail so far (I have only been shooting it for about 4 months). I'm going elk hunting in Utah with it in a little over a month.

On my older Knight, I have a 3X9X40 Nikon Monarch. Doesn't really have to be anything fancy or MZ specific.

All I’ve used on my ML for years are Leupold 6x36.

No issues, haven’t needed or wanted more.

Have an Optima V2 with the Burris E1 3-9x40 with duplex. Natchezss closed out the scope several years back. Wish I had several. Don't know how you could beat it for the money now if you like their ballistic reticle. Otherwise I think the FF II has the same internals, just a bit different shell. Have a Bushnell 3200 2-7 x 32 Firefly on another V2 and really like the heavy tri-plex reticle even if it didn't have the glow. Only down side to the Bushnell is eye relief when shooting full charge loads with 250 gr+ bullets. It'll make your eyebrow grin if you don't hang on.

I put a LNIB VX3i 2.5-8x36 on mine. I bought it here on the fire.

I've been running a Nikon Monarch 4x40 for years and like it. Considering changing to a 6x42 S&B but don't really "need" to. Where and how I hunt with a ML I don't need to dial but if I did I'd be going the SWFA 6x route like GregW.

Leupold makes a muzzleloader scope I think.

I like the 2.5 X Leupold Compact scope. It has 4.9" eye relief with plenty of field of view and according to reports, and my own experience, they hold zero well unlike Leupold variables. I have that scope on my muzzleloader.

If your absolute range limit is 150 yards, near anything will work for your muzzleloader. When the early muzzleloaders hit the market, they weren't too much more effective than a 12 gauge with a one ounce rifled slug. Now they have outpaced shotguns by a wide margin as to their effective range. They still shoot a large diameter, heavy bullet with some trajectory issues and for that reason, I would be looking at the Leupold drop compensating muzzleloader scope. I was overhearing a gun store conversation about how it was only like $30.00 more than the fixed reticle variable and I was thinking to myself, wow what a great idea. You mount the scope, determine the trajectory with your chosen load and Leupold will send you a cam so that you can dial your range out to way out there without having to guess and hold high. Maybe not ultra low budget offering, but in my experience economizing on sporting equipment has never been a good idea.
