A friend that lives in the Texas Panhandle told me they were so muddy he can't go to his shooting range north of Borger. I always found that area to be arid. Maybe changing weather patterns are a benefit to a lot of places.

Here in the NC mountains it has rained one time in the past 41 days, and that day, it didn't rain much. Just look at this weather report for today. The previous record for today was 88. And read the fine print, even hotter tomorrow. We are getting forest fires. Wells are going dry. We should have a high today, of 75 degrees. God help us I think we have entered The Twilight Zone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvSygELUEqkDrought...forty-four days...really. They are forecasting this one will break in two years.

Wish we could trade weather with the eastern guys!
Still have all of our second cutting alfalfa to swath.... Not so sure about that, but I know if it's too wet, that's bad also. The grass won't grow without rain either. It's hardly rained here at all since the beginning of July. It rained a 1/4" on Monday and that was the first time it rained since the middle of August. One of my neighbors cut a hay field the other day and the round bails were few and far between. I guess something is better than nothing. It was 97* here yesterday and our average high is 74*. A cold front will move through here tonight and the pattern will change. Maybe it'll cool off enough to get out and see what kind of deer are floating around the farm that I hunt. My son shot a doe last weekend and said she was covered in ticks. I need it to cool off a bit before I start killing schit. It's been way too hot and dry.

SC, I'd take the hot and dry weather RIGHT NOW! It is way too muddy to do any field work here and we have a bunch that needs to get done. Hope you guys get some relief soon.

Meanwhile in eastern Montana it has been record breaking moisture and one of the coolest summers anyone can remember. We didn't hit 100F once.
Currently light rain and 41F.
Same here Sam. We hit 100, only once. And, with 3 months to go...our wettest year of the 20 years we’ve lived here. I wish it were this way every year! Hopefully, you boys in the southeast get a break soon! I know it’s still hot, though not dry, in my old home state! memtb

We're on course to double our yearly average here. I'm not sure it ever got above 95 with very few days in the 90s compared to normal. Some of the corn and beans were replanted 2-3 times. I talked to one farmer who said his middle name was Replant.

I just wish this damn snow would melt so I could decide if the crops are all ruined enough to turn cows out.

I thought drought was 36 months with no rain. Darn.

We've had 2.75 inches here since June, record heat, it's been a bad summer.
