That no state income tax isn't such a great deal when the state sales tax rate is double the surrounding states.
We haul everything we can think of down from VA when we come down where the rate is nearly 1/2 The savings difference was not paying tn sales tax rate before this even with everything else included. Tn state sales tax is around 9.5 ish We dont have state income tax . They bring that up every so often also. Just a matter of when on that one too..... Never enough tax revenue for em.... All it does is screw the working and the retired. It dont phase phuggs who dont work or pay taxes......

We haul everything we can think of down from VA when we come down where the rate is nearly 1/2 Yes, I have just about quit shopping in Tennessee because of that. Now, there is no doubt that a sales tax is the most fair tax there is, because even the welfare crowd has to pay it. But, by the time you buy the gas driving the extra distance, then pay a 10% tax, you're better off staying home and paying a little more for the merchandise.

Wyoming's Senator Enzi was a key player in the States right to have out of state business collect their sales tax for them. His explanation was that it "Levels the playing field for "Brick & Mortar stores, so they can compete with on-line vendors". Good work Enzi, now the folks who buy on-line have to pay sales tax in addition to shipping charges. Greedy reckless spending sunsabeaches in government.
