$150 loading fee plus $5 mile is about average for that short of a haul. $450-$550. Going through a broker you would get a quote much higher. Need to get in touch with a local equipment hauler direct. Call your local equipment dealer and see if they’ll give you some contacts.

A couple of weeks ago It cost me $3000.00 to have a 48,000 pound excavator moved 550 miles from Spartanburg SC to my place in Mississippi . That was over width and over weight. That was the truck dead heading up to get it and bringing it back.

I'm pretty cheap.

I'd get momma to haul me over, and then cut cards as to who drives it back home.

What the hell is a loading fee?

Do you still have to pay it if the jack assed truck driver falls off his lowboy?

Is moving 12,000# tlb 62 miles even worth mentioning on the internet? Like someone said, it's not the space shuttle.

Drive it home in a short afternoon or find someone with a gooseneck to hotshot it to you.

Im familiar w/ NOVA, operating costs, cost of living etc etc... moving that machine up 17 than 95... $1k would be a range Id expect...

You know what housing costs there... and people gotta eat.

When townhouses cost $400k, other things get expensive.

If it runs good with no issues, I'd just jump on it and drive it home before I'd pay that kind of money.

State laws may apply there though...

12,000 lb tractor? Yeah....better hire some Escort vehicles and pull a wide load permit too.

Not sure what kind of roads or traffic you would be facing on your journey, but traveling at 20-30 mph on some roads can be a hazard I would rather not deal with.

I would call your local tractor dealer, and tell them to pick it up and service it. Probably the same money as a tow, and you get some new fluids and filters.

Find an excavator with a low boy. The problem is that everyone is busy as schit right now.

$5.50 a loaded mile like was stated before. Find some local guy with a 12 ton tagalong and a truck equivalent to a ford f 600 to pull it and offer him $350.

Surely you could plan a route and drive the thing. Hang an SMV sign on the back, pick a time with less traffic and have at it.

JFC, he's not moving the space shuttle.

A one ton truck and a dually tandem can EASILY haul it. It’s 6 tons according to tractor data. Com

$5 a mile is too high . It’s more like $2 a mile , but with short mileage. $500 easy, maybe $650 tops
