Absolutely. When I hunt cottonwood creek bottoms with lots of cover I like to use those 8x42's, Perfect.

6.5x in PA woods are great, especially with the antler restrictions, they're nice to have.

Oh yeah. 10’s won’t cover that. Let’s spend another 600 bucks for cottonwood creek bottom glasses. Lmfao.

Which I know you, your cottonwood creek glasses are Swarovski or Leica. Scratch that 600 buck comment

It's a relative term I guess. Heavy cover for what I'm used to hunting out here in wide open W TX. How about lots of cover but can see 150 yards or so in places?

Wow, the butthurt is rather pathetic. Never knew anyone cared that much about what I personally use.

10X would be terrible in a laurel bottom or tight timber stand.

Why are you choosing to be a douche out of thin air?

You don’t use that off brand crap. Not when serious anyway. If you own that other junk you recommended you don’t use it on a serious hunt, it may be your wife’s or kids, but you don’t use it.’

That’s cool.

I had a pair of 10x40 Zeiss Classics and 10x40 Diamondbacks. Did some side by side with them both mounted on a tripod and low light the Vortex won. Ended up with 8x40 Diamondbacks and am plenty pleased. Certainly don’t mind beating the schit out of them. Then again, I’m OK with 270’s and 30-06’s.

My brother has the early version of the 10x40 Vipers and they are pretty bad ass.

8x are better in the areas I hunt, for me, anyway. Have a set of 6x Yosemite’s for my little one and they are pretty damn impressive for $75!

Your mileage may vary....good luck.

Baloney. I also use Leupold Mojave 8x32's sometimes.....took them to Namibia. I don't feel the need to use 10x50 SV's in closer quarters. YMMV.

I'm confused then. Why is JG a liar relative to what he's contributed to the thread?
