Nice Ithaca NID Star model 16 gauge double barrel with cocking indicators. Shows alot of use but everything is tight and locks up tight. Receiver has a star stamped on the sides and bottom. Barrels measure 28", modified and full chokes, shinny bores and no dents or rust. Wood has some scratches and dings from normal use. The stock has some missing wood where it joins the upper receiver tang. Length of pull is 14". Manufacture date is 1929. Price is $450.00 plus shipping. Rules apply so gun must be shipped to your FFl holder of choice. Thanks! I have more pictures, just contact me at bearclawhollowyahoo.com

Is there some significance to the stars? I'm not familiar with them.

Roy I inherited one of these from my uncle (same gun with 30" bbls choked tighter than a gnat's azz in both bbls and with a single trigger and auto ejectors). I think the "stars" are simply inexpensive decorations, cheaper than engraving, and they actually do look pretty decent. Wish I had the ability to post pics, but they are shown in a number of books on American doubles--a simple line stamping (I think).
The stars on mine are somewhat larger on mine and not symmetrical--taller centers that horizontals.

Uncle Ray's gun is from around 1930, but he bought it in 1939 after it had sat in a shop in San Pedro CA waiting to sell. (The Depression depressed gun sales as well as everything else. He bought a brand new Colt Woodsman Target at the same time, and it had been sitting there since 1930. "Spendin' like a sailor", as they say, and at that point, he was one).

Had one of these same 16ga NID’s for a spell. The starred guns were later production years, otherwise no special meaning. They are pretty little American guns though, and well made, modern steel. The price is appropriate. Free bump.

Can you weigh it? If it's under 7 pounds might be interested.

Have owned a few NID's. They're nice guns--much better than most hunters appreciate--but not usually very light.

I've got one w/o the stars and it's really light, 16 also.
