When I heard about this this morning, I couldn't believe that an Admiral would set about doing this to Gallagher.
Good on Trump for standing up for Gallagher.

These are excerpts from an article in the American Military News.Several elected officials have begun to see the obviously unorthodox circumstances around this case, including Congressmen Marine officer combat veteran Duncan Hunter and former Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw. Hunter, a former Marine officer and combat veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, had not only been increasingly vocal about Eddie’s mistreatment while imprisoned, but he went so far as to visit Eddie in the brig. Hunter has also sent multiple letters to both President Trump and NCIS in order to get some answers to what he told American Military News is a case of “prosecutors gone wild” in the U.S. Navy. Trump stepped in after more than 50 members of Congress called for urgent attention to the case, and two letters sent by two groups of Congressmen were sent to the U.S. Navy demanding action. The Gallagher case has ripped off layers of bandages that were covering up a broken system intended for serving justice; this system seemingly does the opposite and is, in fact, set up to crush people. Eddie Gallagher’s case exposes the politics of the military justice system, and how an accused man who wants nothing more than to clear his name, or at least have a fair opportunity to do so, must now jump through legal and bureaucratic hoops, and fight leaks to the media in order to get a fair shake. The outcome of his case is expected to unravel the fabric of our nation’s SEAL teams. Green holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Catholic University of America, and is a distinguished graduate of the Naval War College with a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
Green participated in special operations in Europe, Africa and Asia. Tours in Naval Special Warfare include assignments at SEAL Teams 2, 3 and 5. He served as operations officer, Naval Special Warfare Task Group U.S. 6th Fleet; executive officer, Naval Special Warfare Unit 10; and assistant chief of staff for Plans, Policy and Operations, Naval Special Warfare Command.
Other assignments include naval special warfare officer, Navy Operations and Plans Branch in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations; naval special warfare officer, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/U.S. 5th Fleet; U.S. Central Command branch chief, J3 deputy directorate for U.S. Special Operations, Joint Staff; director of operations, NATO Special Operations Component Command/Special Operations Joint Task Force-Afghanistan; and executive officer, Supreme Allied Commander Europe/Commander, U.S. European Command.

I’ve got a pretty solid inside source on seals and what Gallagher is accused of is every day operations. Our seals are not taking average hajjis prisoner. A few high value leaders are kept but the rest get interrogated in the field with the help of the Iraqis and then turned over to the Iraqis who torture them to death if they have time or just slit their throats if the Iraqis don’t have time for fun.
Gallagher is a hardcore seal and a dickhead. He’s not liked by the guys who just want the trident but not the actual job. Most of those guys are opioid addicts ( heroine in the field and pills back home ) who just want to lay around and get high. Gallagher was riding their asses and they complained and pointed fingers. Our seal teams are In desperately bad shape. Because we needed to vastly expand the seals rapidly we took in a bunch that never would’ve made it in the past. I think it was McCrystal who said “every night I’m going to send you out to do things you’re not supposed to do and every day I’m going to berate you for doing those things.” That is exactly what is going on.

50 years after the Vietnam war... people posing with dead combatants are still looked in history as non-american behavior and certainly not accepted behaviour by ANY armed forces anywhere!
On 24hourcampfire in 2019, soldiers doing the same, is seen as damn fine man.
