For those of you in Northern Colorado 0r any close distance, check out Scheels in Johnstown about 40 miles north of Denver. An all sports store that carries everything. Two stories and each is bigger than Cabelas or Bass Pro. .Nicer, knowledgeable people and the prices a bit lower. It was a 2.5 hour drive for us , but I am impressed.

Good store - very friendly staff (Cedar Falls and Coral Ridge Mall).

Just went to my very first Scheels this week.
Went to the one in Omaha and the one in Lincoln.
Picked up an Atlas PSR bipod in Lincoln (Merry Christmas to me!)
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, incredible selection. Bass Pro/Cabelas best pray they don’t start putting them in the southeast.

The one in Springfield, ILL, is EXTREMELY overpriced. Somebody has to pay for such a fancy store. Sorry, I'll do biz at Buds', Graf's, Midway, etc. I buy too much stuff to be tossing away 5 k a year extra.

The Scheels in Billings is one of the newer ones that has a Ferris Wheel in the store. The store is huge and very nice with good help. There has been a Scheels in Billings for as long as I can remember. It was Scheels Hardware when I was a kid.And that was a long time ago.

At the mall in West Des Moines. I prefer the Sportsman's Warehouse in Ankeny. About 5 to 10% better prices at Sportsman's.

I discovered the Scheels store in Rapid City almost 20 years ago. Was really great to hear they were building one locally but it was delayed for some time. Less than 30 minutes from my house and is now my only sporting goods store

Was at Scheels in KC Saturday, but wife was with me so purchases were limited.
Was at Scheels in SLC last night and wife wasn’t with me....
They’ve got pretty good sales from what I’ve seen. Free shipping over $50 right now.

Cheesy - you were about 4 miles from my house if you were at the KC scheels...  Saddlesore nailed it - they operate more like Cabelas when they hired people who had experience.
