That's a super nice offering! That is a class act of the current Savage owners to honor the classic Savage cartridges as well!
Wonder how soon it will sell out??

Many years ago Ruger made a run of Black Hawks called the Buckeye special. They were made for Buckeye Sporting Goods in Ohio. The first run was a convertible with a 32-20 cylinder and a 32 H&R Mag cylinder. Then a couple years later they offered the original purchasers a 45 ACP/45 Colt convertible, then a 38/9mm. It was a pretty cool set. They all had the same serial with an A,B,and C to differenciate each. If Savage did that and offered each of the 4 Savage cartridges, I'd buy all 4. It just helps if they let you know ahead of time.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Price isn't as high as I thought it'd be. Ifin' I'd get one it would be in 250 Savage, love that caliber, more adaptable for what I can and would use it for. 2nd choice 300 Savage, love it also. I'd shoot one if it were in my collection. Not a buyer of guns and let them be safe queens.

Hopefully it comes with the 14" twist. Or maybe 15".

It just helps if they let you know ahead of time. Last summer at a local estate auction I scored one of the 32-20/32 H&R Mag versions, NIB. It went cheap. Nobody loves the 32-20 anymore... I didn't know about the other versions. Thanks for feeding my addiction! Doug

Trying to figure out why its offered in a 6.5 My guess and thought is because the 6.5 Creedmoor (along with all of the 6.5mm's such as the 6.5 Grendel) are the darlings of the firearm industry and gun magazine writers, not to mention those shooters wanting something bigger than a 5.56mm (.223), but smaller than the 7.62mm (.308). Not that anything is wrong with the 6.5mm's, but they seem to be the rage of the 'intermediate' rifle shooters wanting something more than the tried and true .243 Winchester and/or others in the .24/.25 calibers. They may/may not stick around, only time will tell. From what I've read about them, they have good ballistics, but for my purposes, I'm fine with the 5.56, 250 Savage, 300 Savage, and various 30/06's. The 5.56 and 250 Sav are the only ones I hunt with here in Iowa (coyote/fox) as bottleneck cartridges are a no-no for deer. Certain straightwall cases are allowed, with restrictions. I did read not long ago that the US military is looking at I believe the 6.5 Creedmoor (could be the Grendel) as a round for something heavier than the 5.56, but lighter than the 7.62 in certain fire systems, but not to replace the 5.56 in the M16/M4 rifles.

Trying to figure out why its offered in a 6.5 The bean counter’s. I bet if Savage re-intorduced the 250 Savage as the 250 Creedmore they could increase sales by 5x....

they might re-brand the 6.5 Cree and call it "260 Savage" ,...like they did with the "30 Sav", but I can't see them adopting any other name for the venerable 250-3000 (...but maybe a "5.6mm250-4000" with an 9-twist barrel and 40g pills)
