168 NBTs and 43.0 Varget. Swap out to a 168 Amax for paper. The NBT will leave a golf ball sized hole in a deer. The jackets are supposedly thicker on the 168s. I’d trust it on an elk at the sedate speeds the 308 generates.

Have you ever tried using JB Bore paste on the rifling? On a new rifle I may run about 10 strokes on a patch to get a good group with a known good load.
TAC and 168 gr Sierra Matchkings shoot nice in my AR-10-T will go next to 165 Hornady Interlocks and the 168 Horn BTHP's then progress to 165 NPT 's from SPS. MB
